"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits."
(Romans 12:12-16 KJV)
Our Awesome God has a purpose (as He always does) in developing a Christ-like character in His people. As we mature to become more like God, we are becoming ready for heaven. This means we should be rejoicing in our hope, be more patient during troubles and be persistent in prayer along with other characteristics Paul mentions in Romans chapter 12.
Our joy in Christ should shine on our faces, should be evident in our behavior and present in our speech. We often do not focus on our hope and therefore our joy in Christ because we are trying to keep from sinning. We Christians are known as a "sober" people. But we should be "bubbling over" with excitement and joy in our Hope of Christ and our future in heaven with Our Awesome God. This joy should really shine from our faces after we spend time praying to God. Does your face show your joy in Christ after you pray? Did you listen for His Voice?
It is apparent that Our Awesome God uses troubles to develop our characters into a closer approximation of His. Trouble does not always happen just to punish someone, but to enrich and mature him into becoming more Christ-like. It can be, and often is, God's discipline for the person under going trouble. But trouble will happen to everyone because it is the "field" on which we learn the most and God knows this.
Just think Our Awesome God cares enough to get His child ready for His Kingdom - Heaven! During any time of trouble, prayer will give you peace, patience and the right attitude if you listen. So pray fervently for God's help to learn what He wants you to know and be changed into a more mature Christian. He is a Loving Father!
Are we behaving like a Christian? Can people see and hear a Christian when they know us or see us? Let us pray that we mature into the characteristics that Our Awesome God wants in His heaven and begin to act like a Christian should.
Join us for church in the Sanctuary this coming Sunday at 10:30 AM. We also have Bible Study on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. Our programs are varied but we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. We love visitors!
