"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15 KJV)
The Biblical quotation above is referring to Jesus Christ as "bruise(ing) thy head, (the head of Satan, the serpent)". Jesus Christ has no sin so He could wipe away all our sins and He did when He died for us on the cross. He showed His marvelous mercy and grace. Read Genesis 3:9-24.
After Adam and Eve had sinned, Our Awesome God showed His grace and understanding as He dealt with those who rebelled against Him in the order in which they had sinned. The first was the serpent; the next was Eve and then Adam. Each character had appropriate consequences for the sin he committed.
We need to realize that the serpent (Satan) knew and had planned what he would say and do to get the fruit eaten by Adam. If you read it carefully, you know Our Awesome God knew it, for He offered no hope, no pardon, no redemption or salvation to Satan. God cursed the serpent, and then in verse 15 you see His grace to man when He mentioned the "seed" of the woman that, after reading the Bible, we know is our Savior, Jesus Christ. He sent Jesus Christ to allow us a way for salvation from our sins by believing in Him and obeying Him.
Eve was cursed with spiritual death, pain with childbirth, desire for her husband and that Adam would rule over her and, eventually, physical death because she, though deceived, had knowingly violated God’s commandment. Adam would also have spiritual and, eventually, physical death but he would have to work hard continually to overcome all the problems that the cursed earth and the animals would give him in order to live and populate the earth. But Our Awesome God, through His grace, gave him a way of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Come visit our church as we seek the will of God and work to expand His kingdom. There is always a need for Christian teachers and new ideas in presenting Our Awesome God to others. We are a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you and took your sins upon Himself and arose the third day and is now sitting by God, interceding for you when you sin.
Join us at LWBC as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard to tell everyone about Jesus Christ and His salvation. We start with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. Our programs include Bible Study groups along with AWANA for children on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Wednesday at 7:00 PM is Prayer Requests and Bible Study.
