"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding."
(Isaiah 40:28 KJV)
EL-OLAM: "Everlasting God" (Psalm 90:1-3) – Our Awesome God’s nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time and, "From everlasting to everlasting, You are God." God's ways are everlasting. Read all of Psalm 90!
The above Scripture verse gives Him several identities. First the eternal, infinite God who is timeless but timely and second the Creator of the ends of the universe – He is Elohim. He is El-Olam – our timeless God who sees every end from His vantage point. We can trust Him because His supply of energy to maintain us never runs out. It is limitless. His vision never ceases. His understanding is beyond our comprehension. His love for us is beyond anything we know. Even when those around us tell us it is hopeless, God knows the reality of the future. God Is Awesome and He will carry us until He creates our new heaven and earth. We just need to believe Him and lean on Him while following His directions. Our Awesome God is in control! We just wait for Him!
There are and will be many obstructions in the way of God's World on earth. But He will go on removing them until He has thoroughly established His World and brought it to its highest glory, according to His design. His World will be run by His government with everything in it subject to His good providence. God will rule and overrule all things for His glory and our benefit. There will be no taint from evil or Satan around to encourage us to do wrong when God has completed His work. But we needed to see and know evil in order to know why we need to chose God. Praise Our Awesome God who loves us and can do no wrong!

"I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live."
(Psalms 116:1-2 KJV)
How many times in your life have you just wanted someone to listen to your problem and allow you to "vent"? But how long has it been since someone listened to you and understood what you meant? Your problems and complaints are not trivial to you, though we may say to our children, "Can't it wait until morning?" Yes, life with its pressures and problems can be overwhelming, making you long for someone who will listen and understand.
Read Psalm 116 carefully for there is someone who never sleeps and always listens, Our Awesome God. He will listen. He will understand and He will answer at the right time. It is wonderful to know the Creator of all listens to us with all our confusions, our tiredness and our frustrations. He also listens to our excitement, joys and hope for the future. He will be there listening to our triumphs and despairs with understanding and love. Use His listening ear and know He is helping us to learn and understand more. God is for us! Who can stand against Him? He created all things that are, so He knows all. He could destroy all things. He is your Father and can do all things. He loves you and hears you.
Our Awesome God listens for our cries for help and He never fails to answer. He knows and has planned for the best answer for your problem and those around you. We are never alone with God there. Are you a Christian? Our Awesome God's Holy Bible teaches that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. So He is a living Savior not a dead one! So He takes the time to listen. His answers will help you as well as your neighbor.
Join us at LWBC as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard to tell everyone about Jesus Christ and His salvation. We start with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. Our programs include Bible Study groups at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. Wednesday at 7:00 PM is Prayer Requests and Bible Study with a separate Women's Bible Study and Youth Chapel until 8:00 PM. Let's see what we can do and learn together!
"And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not… For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."
(Judges 13:2, 5 KJV)
Of all the God chosen judges named in the book of Judges, Samson, from the tribe of Dan, was the only one chosen before birth. His coming was foretold by an angel of Our Awesome God (Judges 13) and his parents were instructed that he was to be a Nazarite (see Numbers 6:1-8). Samson was raised in the southern part of Dan, not far from the Philistine border. The Philistines had taken control of the surrounding tribes of Israel and exacted heavy taxes.
God blessed Samson with tremendous strength but he was self-centered and had a quick temper. Although he maintained the lifestyle of a Nazarite, he had little interest in the God of Israel. But the Spirit of the Lord moved the young man and he went to visit a nearby Philistine town. (Judges 13:25) There he saw a woman of the Philistines that he demanded to marry. At the feast after the wedding, Samson’s new wife betrayed him; so he went into the city and killed 30 Philistine men and took their possessions to pay off the bet. Then, in a fit of anger, he left his wife in her father’s house and went home (Judges 14).
Somewhat later, when Samson’s anger had abated, he returned to claim his bride, but she had been married to a Philistine man. He burned the harvest-ready Philistine fields in revenge. The field owners retaliated by burning his wife and her father and Samson avenged them by killing the owners. Then he went to live in nearby Judah until a Philistine army came to demand custody of Samson. With Samson’s consent, the Judeans bound him and delivered him to the Philistines. In the midst of the Philistine army, God strengthened Samson and he broke the ropes that bound him and routed their army, killing 1000 men. From that time, the Philistines feared the strength of Samson and stayed away while he judged Israel for 20 years. (Judges 15)
Then he met Delilah. Delilah, in league with the Philistine lords, badgered Samson about his strength until he said that he would lose it if his hair was cut. Delilah cut his hair as he slept and God left him weakened. The lords took him, put out his eyes and shackled him to work in prison.
At a Philistine festival, they brought Samson out to celebrate their victory. Samson finally recognized God as his strength and prayed for its return. God answered his prayer and he collapsed the building, killing himself and all that were in it. (Judges 16)
Samson was created to liberate Israel from the Philistines. (Judges 13) His birth was foretold, how he was to be raised and what he was to eat and that he was to be a Nazarite. He ignored God and took his God-given strength for granted. He killed Philistine enemies and claimed the victories as his own. He lost his immense strength and his sight because of his arrogance. He finally lost his life as an instrument of God’s judgment on the Philistines. He was certainly not a good example of a man of God.
God is Awesome and created us all. He works around our problems to get His purposes done. We are not Samson but we have the Holy Spirit in all Christians and are able to do more than we think we can. His Word does not return void so use it and the other gifts he has given you to help your church spread His Words of love for Him and all those around you.

"Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly".
(Proverbs 15:21 KJV)
"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;"
(Philippians 1:9-10 KJV)
In its simplest definition, discernment is nothing more than the ability to decide between truth and error, right and wrong. Discernment is the process of making careful distinctions in our thinking about truth and Our Awesome God created not only truth but also discernment.
"Among the gifts of the Holy Spirit scarcely one is of greater practical usefulness than the gift of discernment. This gift should be highly valued and frankly sought as being almost indispensable in these critical times. This gift will enable us to distinguish the chaff from the wheat and to divide the manifestations of the flesh from the operations of the Spirit." (A. W. Tozer)
Many Christians get in trouble and stumble because they lack a discerning spirit. They do not know their Holy Bible well enough to know what God says about subjects. They walk right into the traps Satan sets for them and wonder why it happened. We need to be able to tell right from wrong and pray about it before doing anything.
We should raise our children to know and understand the Holy Bible (Our Awesome God's Bible) because it teaches discernment. Our children, thoroughly trained in the Bible, will know right from wrong and can tell when Satan is setting traps for them. They will know where to look in the Bible to be sure they are right. Good discernment needs to start when the person is young so that they can bypass many mistakes that they will otherwise make. The older you get, the more you are bombarded by the evil around you. You need to know right from wrong in theory as well as practice for good discernment.
The best thing to do is to make the Holy Bible your focus when you are in doubt about anything and your prayer line going. Teach this to your children as they grow up and be sure they understand Our Awesome God's answer and bring it to our children's attention. God loves us all and your children need to know this and when to seek Him.

"And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him."
(Judges 4:10 KJV)
Barak was a mighty Hebrew warrior who answered the call of Our Awesome God despite overwhelming odds against him. His name means "lightning." In the time of the judges, Israel had drifted away from God again, and the Canaanites had oppressed them for 20 years. God called up Deborah, a wise and holy woman, to be a judge and prophetess over the Jews, the only female among the 12 judges named in the Book of Judges.
Deborah called Barak, telling him Our Awesome God had commanded him (Judges 4:6) to gather the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali and go to Mount Tabor. Barak hesitated, saying he would go only if Deborah went with him. Deborah agreed, but because of Barak's lack of faith in God, she told him, credit for the victory would not go to him, but to a woman.
Barak led a force of 10,000 men from Israel, but Sisera, commander of King Jabin's Canaanite army, had the supposed advantage because Sisera had 900 iron chariots. In ancient warfare, chariots were like tanks: swift, intimidating and deadly. The Lord sent a rain and the chariots became mired in the mud, so Barak slaughtered all those in chariots (Judges 4). True to Deborah's prophesy the battle was over when Jael, a Kenite woman, killed Sisera with a tent stake. (Judges 4:21)
Barak recognized that Deborah's authority had been given to her by Our Awesome God, so he obeyed a woman, something rare in ancient times. He was a man of great courage and had faith that God would intervene on Israel's behalf. But, when Barak told Deborah he would not lead unless she accompanied him, he was putting faith in her relationship to God, not his. Deborah told him this doubt would cause Barak to lose credit for the victory to a woman, which came to pass but his wisdom in following God's leader won the battle.
Faith without doubting Our Awesome God is necessary for any worthwhile task, and the bigger the task, the more faith is required. God uses whom he wishes, whether a woman, like Deborah or an unknown man like Barak. God will use each of us if we put our faith in him, obey, and follow where he leads. Could you have faith enough not to doubt if Our Awesome God sent you? READ JUDGES 4.

"Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."
(Titus 2:14 KJV)
We have trouble comprehending the complete forgiveness of God. He is awesome and large enough to encompass all the universes which He created, so God is able to forgive you. We often make Our Awesome God too small. But repentance is the key to being forgiven. Proverbs 28:13 (KJV) says, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."
If you can confess it to Our Awesome God, you can be forgiven of it! It doesn't matter what you've done, if you turn to God, confess your sins and repent, He will forgive you of ALL unrighteousness... that includes anything you've done. It is important that you confess them to God! 1 John 1:9 (KJV) states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Do you know that Christ's death on the cross demonstrated Our Awesome God's great and deep love for you? That's right! Romans 5:8 (KJV) says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Christ's death on the cross was not just a demonstration of Our Awesome God's love for 'good people', but for all those who have lived or will live in the world! John 3:16(KJV) states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." He wanted all of us in heaven with Him but not at the cost of His righteousness! So He sent Christ to absorb our sins.
Our Awesome God does not remember your forgiven sins (Psalms 103:12), so why should you? God wants us to forgive ourselves, as He has forgiven us, and allow Jesus' blood to wash clean our conscience from all the evil we have done! God's forgiveness is for all who repent! Just try to learn from it. Praise God!

"Behold, I am the Lord , the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?"
(Jeremiah 32:27 KJV)
"For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord ; and there is none else."
(Isaiah 45:18 KJV)
Elohim is plural for El and means "strong one". When used for the one true God, it is a plural of majesty and suggests the trinity. It is used for Our Awesome God's sovereignty, creative work, mighty work for Israel, and in relation to His sovereignty (Isaiah 54:5; Jeremiah 32:27; Deuteronomy 8:15; Genesis 1:1). Again we have a Hebrew name for God which tells us that God showed the characteristic of being the "strong one" when He did certain things for Israel. But Elohim is plural and implies that strength is characteristic of all three persons of the Godhead, collectively and individually.
Our Awesome God has many names because they remind people of what the characteristics and roles of God are. We need to remind ourselves of His many names that tell us who He is and what He can do. It is written in the Holy Bible that "...with God all things are possible" (Mark 10:27) and we need to believe this and use it.
To help us live closer to Him, we need to remember that Our Awesome God is the powerful, creative God who is a trinity. He sees and knows our needs, even before we do. God Is Awesome and can do or be anything He wants to do or be. While He has unlimited strength, He has given us some of our own, especially when we are in agreement. So it is important to belong to a church that agrees and reads the Holy Bible, prays and preaches that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose on the third day. Join a church that encourages you to become more Christ-like every day. Praise Elohim!
God is Awesome and has all strength but wants us to use the strength He gives with knowledge and wisdom and help from Him. Give Elohim the praise!
