"Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord."
(Jeremiah 23:23-24 KJV)
The word "immanence" means Our Awesome God is present everywhere and knows everything and created everything. God manifests Himself in everything from history to the lives of people in both a mundane way and in a spectacular way. This has been taught for several millennia by most Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious leaders as their doctrine of an eternal, transcendent and immanent God.
When you read the Bible carefully, you realize that Our Awesome God created the universe, a physical universe, out of nothing and that God Himself is greater than all other things in this physical realm He created. He is not physical, but spiritual. God exists outside of what can usually be seen by human beings which He created. Being a Spirit, He exists in a metaphysical "body." Read these verses to help you understand the difference in God's nature and ours: Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; 4:24; and Hebrews 11:3. God is everywhere, created everything, knows everything including what you just thought and is a Spirit so He cannot be seen usually by our earthly eyes.
The important things we need to know about God's immanence and transcendence is that: 1) The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. 2) He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding is complete. No one can understand as He does. 3) Our Awesome God is eternal, He is omnipotent and omniscient. 4) God is huge and no one and nothing can be compared to Him for there is no one like Him. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. And the day we actually see God, we will know who He is and all things we know will fit together nicely. We will be home!
We will be able to know all that we need to know. But be assured Our Awesome God will know more and do more. He lives and keeps us alive!
Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a program for children called AWANA which goes until 7:30 PM. We have a Prayer Meeting and Bible Study that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. We love visitors and always appreciate God's creation.
"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"
(Hebrews 1:2-3 KJV)
The important conviction of the Book of John is that believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as Our Awesome God's only begotten Son, will allow sinners to be saved from their sins and have everlasting life with Him in heaven (John 20:31). In order for the unbeliever to believe he must hear about Our Awesome God and Jesus Christ and he needs to have a little faith that the Son of God is able to provide this salvation. (The truth of what he hears should be confirmed by reading the Holy Bible, God's Word to man.)
With this in mind, read the Book of John in God's Holy Bible as he makes you see who Jesus Christ is, the miraculous signs He did and the eye witness testimony about Him. All this was possible because Jesus Christ was there when this universe was created (Genesis 1-3).
In Hebrews 1:3 above, the Holy Bible says that Jesus was the agent by which all things were created (Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 1:2). Think of all the things that were created by Jesus Christ from the littlest molecule to the dinosaurs, from the distance the earth is from the sun to how fast our planet spins on its axis, all detailed and precise with no room for error in order that all will work. Think of all the occupations that He had to fulfill: Creator, Engineer, Doctor, Biologist, Artist, Oceanographer, etc. No one could have done all that was done except Our Awesome God and His Divine Son, Jesus Christ.
The Bible contains five Books that the Apostle John wrote. This man was with Jesus Christ from the beginning of His ministry here on earth until about 98 AD when John died, so he knew Jesus and wrote about his Lord. Read John's Books in God's Holy Bible, covering Jesus Christ from creation to the final judgment.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV). Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and how to teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children who go until 7:30 PM. There is more during the week. We love visitors!
"And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; "
(Genesis 15:13 KJV)
At the age of 75 years, Abraham left Haran and started wandering where Our Awesome God led him to go. He was past the age where Sarah (his wife) could bear a child and yet, God told him his descendants would inherit the earth and he believed God. Abraham traveled through and in the land of Canaan the rest of his his life, expecting God to provide a peaceful home.
Soon after Abraham rescued his nephew, Lot, he became concerned about not having children. Then he had a vision while dreaming in which Our Awesome God told him the Scripture above. In the vision, God assured Abraham that he would be protected from conflict. The seed of Abraham was to be from his own body and would endure affliction and slavery with persecution for 400 years. Then God would miraculously rescue them from their persecution. But just when did the 400 years begin?
Abraham's first-born son was Ishmael but Isaac was the "child of promise." When Isaac was almost 5 years old and Ishmael was 20, it was necessary to decide who would inherit. Abraham held a great feast for Isaac's birthday but Ishmael was disrespectful. So Ishmael was sent away and Isaac became the heir of Abraham. The day Isaac was 5 years old, he was confirmed by God as heir and it was exactly 400 years later that the Exodus out of Egypt began.
400 years after Abraham's feast, on the same day, the 15th of Aviv, Our Awesome God brought the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob out of Egypt. If we follow the chronology, we see that, besides Joseph, the Israelites were only in Lower Egypt for 215 years before they became slaves. The four generations, mentioned by God, are traced through the tribe of Levi who entered Egypt with the other sons of Israel during the years of famine. Our Awesome God has done it again! God created the world. All that is in it will do as and when He wills it, including captivity. Praise the Lord! He always has a purpose and it will happen.
Learn more about Our Awesome God by reading His Holy Bible, praying to Him and worshipping in a church which preaches and teaches the Holy Bible. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study and 10:30 AM for worship Service, then again at 6:00 PM for Bible Study. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and Bible Study. First, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your creator and Savior. We can show you how from the Word of God and we love visitors.
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
(Genesis 1:1 KJV)
"And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also."
(Genesis 1:16 KJV)
"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."
(Genesis 1:20 KJV)
"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
(Genesis 1: 27 KJV)
Our Awesome God created all things both stationary and moving, such as the universe, earth and sea, sun and moon, heaven and earth, all the plants and animals. We don't know how long God's days might be but we do know He made each thing using careful detail and precision so that all things work to help and complete each other. He created the universes, put them in position, created the suns and moons and each of the stars and put them in position without too much gravitational pull. They each do what He wants them to do in the way He wants it done.
This Awesome God created the grass and trees, herbs and crawling things after creating the seas and water. Each creation was different, carefully made with detail so it would reproduce itself. Each creation would, in careful detail, be able to use oxygen and carbon dioxide as God made it to grow, live and multiply as He wanted. And it worked good, as He intended.
All the sea creatures and land animals were the creation of Our Awesome God, each with blood or fluid to keep them alive and reproducing and fulfilling the purpose He put them here for. Some creatures so carefully, delicately and intricately made that they are breathtakingly beautiful and could not have been even thought of by a mere human.
Our Awesome God created man as an image of Himself and so wondrously made that we are still discovering new things about the body He gave us. But we are able to think, feel and make things as we use our hands and minds to do the things God put us here to do. Praise our wonderful God! Read Genesis 1 in God's Holy Bible. Will He make life on other planets and in other universes? Has He already done it?
Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service.
