"Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee."
(Song of Solomon 8:5 KJV)
We all have something that causes us to want to lean on or get help from someone more knowledgeable, such as Our Awesome God. It may be something we know nothing about or have failed to overcome in the past, and we need someone to help us. Now, being a human, we don't want to admit that we are fearful of failure with this problem we have, so we try to get information from someone else without them knowing or we read up on the subject. In short, we do almost everything possible to keep from admitting we need help. Have you ever done that? Pride is awful!
Someone was praying the other day and they ended their prayer with "Oh, Lord help support us on every leaning side!" Immediately my attention was caught, this person was admitting they needed some help to keep them out of trouble. Their "leaning sides" needed support and he was admitting it by appropriately asking Our Awesome God for that support. This was a good person to know! And that name will be remembered!
Do you have a "leaning side?" Can you admit it and ask Our Awesome God for help? If you don't know God it is time you did. Seek a Holy Bible with no additions, such as a King James or a New King James Version, and a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. If we do know Him we should be spending more time on our knees asking God for help and then using the help that He provides, whether it is strength, providing a person more knowledgeable in the subject or giving you the knowledge in some other way, He will provide. God is our Father and He is waiting for us to stop struggling and just ask Him. He loves you! He is my beloved for it brings me peace and a warm feeling of love.

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
(Luke 18:1 KJV)
Read Luke 18:1-8. One of the greatest problems for the Prayer Team is our failure to pray until we get an answer. We need to remember that our time is not God's time. We may begin with good intentions, praying for a couple of weeks, a month or more, but then we begin to doubt or find someone else to pray fervently about, we slack off and soon that person isn't even on our prayer list.
This, of course, is a big mistake with serious consequences. When the person praying starts not completing what they started for Our Awesome God, it often leads to not completing most things you start. People who start not completing tasks can develop a habit of failure because of unfinished tasks. When you give up, you are opening yourself to failure and defeat. God knows the lessons we need to learn and perseverance is one God needs to teach most of us.
At this point, someone should ask, "How long should we pray?" The best answer would be this: Pray until the prayer is answered or until your heart is quiet and assured that Our Awesome God will answer it. Don't stop until you know God wants you to. We need to remember how much Satan wants us to stop praying for that person. It is a real battle because he can bring doubt to you and your prayer life. God uses your prayer to Him as a weapon against Satan and to teach you how important perseverance is.
As we pray more and more and build up our experience, we will know when Our Awesome God is giving us that feeling of assurance that He will take care of it so we can stop praying about that person. There actually comes a time when we stop praying because we believe in Him and have faith that He will take care of it. Have you reached that time?
Intercessory Prayer is available at our church and we have had some marvelous results as Our Awesome God is answering prayers. Come join us as we learn more through prayer and perseverance. May God continue to bless you and your’s.

"And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the Lord until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.
(Joshua 7:6 KJV)
Read Joshua 7:6-15.
Our Awesome God tells us in His Holy Bible about humans and their failures or setbacks. He wants us to learn from the mistakes of others and to realize we will not win often when God isn't helping us. Are we sure He wasn't helping us every time we won even if our purpose wasn't right?
Failures happened to these Biblical characters:
* When Abraham should have stayed in the land and trusted the Lord, he fled to Egypt because of the drought (Genesis 12:10).
* Moses, in trying to help his people, ran ahead of the Lord and killed the Egyptian (Exodus 2:11-12).
* When David should have been on the field of battle, he stayed home and committed adultery (2 Samuel 11).
* Peter, in spite of his self-confidence and his great boast, denied the Lord (Matthew 26:69-75).
These are all failures that are found in the Bible because, if we live and really do anything, we will fail at some time in our lives. God wants us to know and be able to handle failures as well as successes, and to know where success comes from. We need to understand that failures come when we do something in our own strength and that we should include God's instruction to make our next try a success. Was Our Awesome God consulted in any of the above incidents?
There are many causes for failure. Some are the product of specific acts of sin, but some are not. Some are simply the product of ignorance or of circumstances beyond our control like a drop in the stock market or extreme weather conditions (drought, floods, wars). But we need to pray before and in the aftermath of a failure and wait for His answer.
Once Our Awesome God (or our Lord) reveals the answer and what we should do, our prayer request is ended. We accept His answer and immediately obey Him. This obedience may include asking the Lord and others for forgiveness or to include other specific details but if God said it, do it. Now a failure can start things going for God's glory and your learning more about Our Awesome God.

"And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true."
(John 10:41 KJV)
Our Awesome God created each of us as special individuals to do a specific job. Are you dissatisfied with yourself? You wanted to do something great or wonderful with your life. Instead you are not a genius, you have no unusual gifts and you have no special abilities. Average seems to be your existence. Nothing you do is worth making mention of unless it is the lack of change and zest in what you do. But do you fully understand the purpose you were put on earth for? Have you researched your purpose so that you have it memorized? Does God want you to teach? To preach? To be an example of Jesus?
Our Awesome God's Bible verse mentioned above is about John the Baptist who never performed a miracle that we know of but told rulers, disciples and anyone who would listen about Jesus Christ and who He was. And because of this Jesus went on to say of him, "For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." (Luke 7:28 KJV). John's job on earth was to tell of the coming of Jesus (John1:8) and it is your Christian job also (Matthew 28:19-20).
We should do all we can every day and do the "insignificant" jobs knowing that Our Awesome God will see. If you live with difficult people, win them to Christ with love. You know you made big mistakes in your life but don't let them control and cloud the rest of your life, because you are forgiven (1 John 1:9). Instead pray and ask God how He wants you to do the job, where He wants you to do it and when He wants you to do it. Start looking for a new and different way to tell people about Jesus Christ.
By living as an example of Christ and sharing simple truths about Him, you will be doing more good and sowing of His Words than you know (Isaiah 55:11). Just do the best you can for Our Awesome God and let Him do the rest to bring that person into the family of God. To do that, you need the encouragement and love of God's Church and people. Life is never a failure when you are doing God's Will. He has a purpose for you being here now!
We can help you find your purpose. Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a 1½ hour program for children called AWANA. We have a Prayer Meeting that meets at 7:00 PM On Wednesday. Learn with us how to use and invest your time with wisdom for Our Awesome God!
