"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
(Galatians 6:8-10 KJV)
The idea in this Scripture is not clock time but opportunities to Touch A Life for Christ. Those openings for ministry that often come at inconvenient times such as a friend who wants to talk, a child who asks a question, or the chance to lend a hand to someone in need. Paul is telling us to keep our lives in order such that we can respond when the chance arises to help. These opportunities will be left out of an overly tight schedule.
You could say that opportunity is a time favorable for a purpose. This passage could be interpreted as referring to the present life that Our Awesome God gives us in order that we can learn to sow and do good things. We should not worry about the opportunities we missed today for we can do nothing about them. Today has passed, but we can decide to be alert for the opportunities to Touch A Life that Our Awesome God will give us tomorrow.
Paul called it doing "good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.".(Galatians 6:10). We can help shape another person's life by showing an interest and taking action. Check the people around you. Is there someone who needs your touch in their lives that Our Awesome God has given you the opportunity to touch with your words or actions? Be ready to respond to the opportunity to Touch A Life for our God!
Touching others with the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ is why we are here on earth. There are always people who have never heard about are wonderful God who created us and loves us. Our Awesome God wants us to know Him well enough that we will Touch A Life with the Words of Jesus Christ, God's Son, everywhere we go.
Come as we reach out to Touch A Life for Jesus Christ in our community and the world. Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children, lasting until 7:30 PM. And Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM there are Prayer Requests and Bible Study. We love visitors!
"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law... Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."
(Romans 13:8, 10 KJV)
The apostle Paul wrote the Book of Romans and, in the 13th chapter, he wrote about love and a person's need to give everyone their due but especially our need to love our neighbors. In verse 13:8, he teaches us that our highest obligation toward men is our obligation to love them. There are other obligations which we will always have toward men, but these obligations are to be of less importance than our obligation of love. Paul doesn’t exclude those other obligations, but rather makes them less important than our highest obligation. Loving Our Awesome God is our first level of priority. Loving others is second and all other obligations (in their own levels of priority) are subordinate.
Let's summarize the implications of this truth for just a moment. Our obligation to government is subordinate to our obligation to love others. But when we love others, we fulfill the law (Galatians 5:23). But if the government orders us to do to others that which is contrary to love, we would have to disobey the government. An example would be: a WWII German citizen who was ordered to betray known Jews so that they could be exterminated would have had difficulty doing so in a way that could be viewed as loving his neighbor.
Romans 13:8-10 of Our Awesome God’s Bible not only give our obligation to love others a higher priority than our other obligations (such as to obey government and its laws), but it explains why this must be true: When we love others, we fulfill God's law. Fulfilling our higher duty assures that we will obey our other duties as citizens of a country as well as citizens of heaven.
Loving Our Awesome God will not hinder us from loving others, and loving others will not keep us from our obligation to obey the law. It should just expand our ability to love. So love Him, learning as much as possible about this God that loves you and wants you to know His Kingdom and His expectations. Read His Book, the Holy Bible, and pray to Him. This love from everyone decreases wars!
Learn more about Our Awesome God by reading His Holy Bible, praying to Him and worshipping in a church which preaches and teaches the Holy Bible. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study and 10:30 AM for worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM for Bible Study along with a children's program called AWANA which goes until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and prayer. First, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your creator and Savior. We can show you how from the Word of God and we love visitors.
"The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat."
(Proverbs 13:4 KJV)
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
(Galatians 6:9 KJV)
The KJV Dictionary definition of diligence is: DILIGENCE, n. L., 1) to love earnestly; to choose, 2) Steady application in business of any kind; constant effort to accomplish what is undertaken; exertion of body or mind without unnecessary delay or sloth; due attention; industry; assiduity.
Most of us "fall" into our first occupation with Our Awesome God's help and/or by what we can do at that time with the training we have. Then we increase that training as time on this earth increases for each of us. This first job is not done with diligence for most of us.
It is evident by the numerous references to diligence in the Bible that Our Awesome God values diligence in His people. The Book of Proverbs has a few examples: 1) Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor. (12:24) 2) All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. (14:2). 3) The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. (13:4)
Diligence needs to be more than a theoretical concept we talk about if we want it to become an ingrained character quality. It must be practiced daily and that means we must willfully strive to be diligent until it becomes a habit, an attitude. We must keep trying to do our very best to complete the tasks as Our Awesome God wants them done and the way He wants. Some practical evidences of diligence we can see in our lives today are seen in the following “I will” statements: 1) I will finish my projects. 2) I will do the job right. 3) I will follow instructions. 4) I will concentrate on my work. 5) I will not be lazy.
These above statements are good but Our Awesome God wants us to learn to do all the work we do "diligently as to the Lord". Diligence is not always easy but God wants your best effort to complete His work and He wants your silent testimony of diligence when working for other people. You are not alone. Our Awesome God wants diligence from all His children in any task, large or small. Look to your church leaders for encouragement and be diligent for the Lord!
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."
(Galatians 6:2 KJV)
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
(Philippians 4:6 KJV)
"Prayer Burdens" are the feeling, the urge to pray, that Our Awesome God gives us. There are times when most of us feel the "Prayer Burden" to pray for someone, but many of us feel a daily need to pray because of this feeling for others. Those people who want to pray daily for others should be on our Intercessory Prayer Team which prays daily for the people, usually on our Prayer List as well as their own list. These people do an awesome job with incredible results because Our Awesome God answers our prayers. Praise His Name! He gives us that need to pray and glorify His Name!
Prayer Burdens should not be taken lightly. If followed up on, they will give you a deeper, richer love and knowledge of Our Awesome God and His Will. Just be sure your reason for praying at any time is a good one, not just to hear your own voice or for others to admire your way of praying but to talk to God. Remember when Jesus said, "You Hypocrites!" He was talking about the reasons the Pharisees prayed long and eloquent prayers in front of all the people they could find.
Our "Prayer Burdens" come from God for He wants us to pray and tell Him what we want. But sometimes you may feel a burden and just don't know what to pray for. Don’t ignore the burden, just pray that God will resolve the situation for which you received the burden and the Holy Spirit will present it to God in God’s terms. "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." (Romans 8:26-27 KJV).
Our reason for praying should not be for our or man's admiration but to glorify and lift-up Our Awesome God. If you have that "Prayer Burden" (that deep heavy feeling when a need for prayer is mentioned) for others, come see us at LWBC and we'll discuss your need to pray, its reasons, and the wonderful benefit you get from using that "Prayer Burden" to pray for others daily. While a "Prayer Burden" is often for people, sometimes it is for a certain problem. If either of these describes you then come see Pastor Richard at LWBC.
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study along with AWANA for children. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
(Ephesians 6:16 KJV)
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
(Galatians 5:16 KJV)
The Armor of Our Awesome God consists of not only the Belt of Truth and the Breastplate of Righteousness but also there are
3) Gospel Shoes---to help you walk, talk and proclaim the gospel and peace of Jesus Christ to all in your path. Paul says in Romans, "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! " (Romans 10:15 KJV). Jesus sent us to spread the Gospel to all people in the world. Are we doing it to those near us as well as the foreigner? Those standing on the gospel will not react in the flesh. Instead, they will be moved by God's Spirit with a protected disregard for such "fleshly" considerations, being "readied" by the "shoes" of the "death, burial, and resurrection of Christ", which is the Gospel that brings peace.
Our Awesome God knows how to be sure His Words never return empty but instead make people realize there is a living God who loves and wants you to enjoy His Heaven with Him forever. So speak those Words about Jesus Christ and tell them about a risen savior who created everything.
4) Shield of Faith---to protect and secure you against the fiery darts of doubt, fear and unbelief used by Satan. Peter says, "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:5 KJV). Our Shield of Faith keeps us from believing the people around us who try to make us doubt Our Awesome God as Satan did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. Keep your faith in God strong for the Spiritual Battles are increasing in intensity as the Return of Christ draws closer.
These are obviously not the usual objects put on for protection when fighting. But these are God's protection for you against Satan. God has already won. Now you, with God's help, need to overcome Satan and spread the news about Jesus Christ. You can with the Armor of God and Our Awesome God. So read your Bible, especially Ephesians 6:10-18, pray, attend church and read our website on 6/08/15 about #4 Whole Armor of God. May Our Awesome God bless you with even greater blessings!
