"Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee."
(Song of Solomon 8:5 KJV)
We all have something that causes us to want to lean on or get help from someone more knowledgeable, such as Our Awesome God. It may be something we know nothing about or have failed to overcome in the past, and we need someone to help us. Now, being a human, we don't want to admit that we are fearful of failure with this problem we have, so we try to get information from someone else without them knowing or we read up on the subject. In short, we do almost everything possible to keep from admitting we need help. Have you ever done that? Pride is awful!
Someone was praying the other day and they ended their prayer with "Oh, Lord help support us on every leaning side!" Immediately my attention was caught, this person was admitting they needed some help to keep them out of trouble. Their "leaning sides" needed support and he was admitting it by appropriately asking Our Awesome God for that support. This was a good person to know! And that name will be remembered!
Do you have a "leaning side?" Can you admit it and ask Our Awesome God for help? If you don't know God it is time you did. Seek a Holy Bible with no additions, such as a King James or a New King James Version, and a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. If we do know Him we should be spending more time on our knees asking God for help and then using the help that He provides, whether it is strength, providing a person more knowledgeable in the subject or giving you the knowledge in some other way, He will provide. God is our Father and He is waiting for us to stop struggling and just ask Him. He loves you! He is my beloved for it brings me peace and a warm feeling of love.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV) Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Praise/Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. And there is more during the week. We love visitors!
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?".
(Romans 10:14 KJV)
Helping Our Awesome God change lives has always lifted me up, excited me and given me a goal with a purpose. It always makes me feel victorious knowing that Jesus Christ saved them and has allowed me to help Him. The victory, the winning, feels like it is mine. Helping others to understand why Jesus Christ became a man-God for me and took all that abuse plus His death for everyone makes me feel alive and victorious.
It is a feeling that you are dining on the very best of life as Our Awesome God and Jesus Christ save someone you have told about salvation through Jesus Christ. It should be our main purpose here on earth and yet most of us watch but don't actively get involved in telling others about the becoming a child of the King. This feeling of helping God change a life is addicting once you have experienced it.
We have living waters flowing out of us as we tell them about Our Awesome God and His precious Son, Jesus Christ. It should be our meat and drink as we see and meet so many who don't know or understand Him. Are you changing lives by telling others about salvation through Jesus Christ?
There are many ways of telling others about Jesus Christ and Our Awesome God. Sometimes you tell them verbally, sometimes you walk and talk as a Christian should and sometimes you give tracts and invite people to a church that preaches and tries to live as Jesus did. Sometimes you do all of it for one person but mostly you live as a Christian because it becomes what you are. Every day new ways to show or tell people how wonderful our God is become available. You need to become involved in changing lives while you strive to live as Jesus Christ would.
Come join us in our church as we become more active in changing lives and presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. We always need help and new ideas in presenting Jesus Christ to others. We would love to have you! Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we have Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. Our programs include a Wednesday Prayer Meeting and Bible Study but are varied as we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible. We love visitors!
"Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy... Our soul waiteth for the Lord : he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name."
(Psalms 33:18, 20-21 KJV)
We are never out of Our Awesome God's sight! He knows where we are and what we are doing. We often think about this when we are sinning (Him watching) but what about when danger is near. It should be comforting to remember that He is with you and watching you. That nothing will happen that He won't use for your good. Our Awesome God has plans and a purpose for you if you are His child.
The promise expressed in the Psalm above by David applies to us wherever we go. Whatever confronts us, "The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open unto their cry" (Psalm 34:15 KJV). One of the wonderful joys of being a Christian is knowing that Our Awesome God in heaven is always watching over us and ready to intervene.
Sometimes we feel that the experience we have is devastating to us, but it may be that it is the only thing that will make us stop and evaluate our lives, or possibly it was needed to help someone else. It is the best thing that will cause us to change to what needs to be done. If you need to change a habit, stop and get help from a Christian pastor who has been trained as a councilor and get into a Celebrate Recovery group in a local Christian church. This group is there for all who need help in changing a habit. Call our office for help from our pastor but get help.
We always have Our Awesome God watching us, and ready to intervene with help if we pray. He will help but He always wants you to ask. Verbalizing your need clarifies it in your mind and makes you realize that you are asking, for His help as you should. He is a loving parent, always watching over His adopted sons and daughters.
Our Awesome God watches all that happens, the good as well as the evil, and knows what the consequences will be. You can be sure that nothing happens that He does not know about because the "eyes of the Lord" are on it. Remember consequences can be and are used for good for some if not all.
LWBC is a loving church who tries to live by Biblical principles while encouraging all its members. Join us for church this coming Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study. We have Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 10:30 AM and Sunday evening Bible Study from 6:00 to 7:00 PM along with AWANA for children lasting until 7:30 PM. Our programs are varied but we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible that Jesus Christ died for you.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
(Matthew 5:3 KJV)
It is important that we have a good working knowledge of the word DENIAL. Celebrate Recovery, a Christian based program, has a small guide book that uses this definition: "a false system of beliefs that are not based on reality; self-protecting behavior that keeps us from honestly facing the truth." If we keep this in mind and we revue what we have done, thought and/or said, can we honestly say we are always aware of the truth. Are we honest with others and ourselves? Before we can start getting rid of our defective character traits, we must admit, realize and face our denial of them. We know we aren't happy with them and Our Awesome God is not pleased with them. In fact, we are getting uncomfortable because we can't control or manage them all the time.
We need to get rid of our denial because energy is lost and it disables our feelings, it negates growth, it isolates us from Our Awesome God, it alienates us from our relationships and it lengthens the pain. This is all explained in the Celebrate Recovery program and how to use the Beatitudes for the principles of recovery from your hurts, hang-ups and habits with God's help. But we all have our character defects that we need to get rid of.
In order to start recovery, we must realize we are not Our Awesome God. We must admit that alone, we are powerless to control our tendency to do the wrong thing and that our life is unmanageable. "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not." (Romans 7:18 KJV). Once we realize this truth and that we need help from others who will hold us accountable and have Jesus Christ helping us, we are ready to start on our road to recovery.
Come join us at our church or join any church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ, died for you and took your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. This gives you your chance to join a program like Celebrate Recovery and get rid of those hurts, hang-ups and habits which are sins and keeping you from maturing as Christians. Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a program for children called AWANA which goes until 7:30 PM. We have a Prayer Meeting and Bible Study that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
