"Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
(Lamentations 5:21 KJV)
When we are working and we make a mistake, we usually just try to correct it or make it error free, or we may apologize for making it. Some of these choices are better than others but the best is to ask of the Lord for wisdom to correct it (James 3:17). Think of your mistake as an opportunity to improve on what you are doing and start thinking, "What did I do wrong? What could I have done that would have been better?" Start using our mistakes to correct what we do wrong in our lives. Continue trying to find ways to improve on what you are doing, it is far better than even correcting our mistakes. Pray for wisdom from God. What we need to do is to turn our mistakes into "gifts"--"gifts" for Our Awesome God.
Whatever we do, we tend to do the same thing with our sins that we do with our "mistakes". Before we decide which way to go with our sins, we need to remember that Our Awesome God doesn't throw us away or hide us. He helps us with our corrections. He redeems us and shows us the best way to handle our sins and "mistakes". Prayer will help and give you the answer but take the time to hear His answer. What would our Lord suggest? Don't add to your one "mistake" with another "mistake", find the correct answer (James 1:5-8).
The "mistake" in your life can have life changing consequences. Remember Paul on the Damascus Road. He turned his life around with God's help and worked the way God wanted. In spite of Paul's history of persecuting Christians, Our Awesome God used him to spread the gospel around the world and to save many more from their lives of sin than he had persecuted for being a Christian (Acts 9:3-6).
The really important thing is not the "mistake" but that you know Jesus Christ and that you ask Him to help. Yes, correct the "mistakes" and make it better if you can, but make your life better because of those "mistakes".
If you need to learn something, Our Awesome God may use a "mistake" to help you see a problem and find the best answer for it. God also can use a "mistake" to make your life more productive and you a better Christian. Actually, Our Awesome God wants you to become free of those "mistakes". He loves you and offers you plenty of help correct your "mistakes".
If you are a Christian who has strayed away from Our Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 10:30 AM for worship and caring from our church of Christians. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We welcome all people and love them!
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
(Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV)
On January 15, 2009, a US Airways flight carrying 155 people out of New York City hit a flock of geese during take-off. It disabled both engines and they knew they were going to die. The captain had the plane in a powerless glide as he maneuvered it away from the densely populated areas. 90 seconds after the captain told the passengers to brace for impact, the plane made a landing in the cold Hudson River where boats hurried to get the people off of that plane before it sank. All passengers and crew had a second chance at life because they survived without major injuries. Praise Our Awesome God!
In a time of crisis, such as the airplane stalling, we realize how important every minute, every hour is to us. We go through our normal routine and forget that Our Awesome God gives us a second chance every day we live. (Lamentations 3:22-23). But we all need that second chance to do it right for we all sin and do things we shouldn't. Are you ready for your second chance?
Every day Our Awesome God offers us a second chance to do better and be better than yesterday. We can accept Him and live happily with His mercy and grace, using that second chance to try to do it right. But we will have to admit we did it wrong first before we can change and do it right. Are you ready for your second chance? Have you admitted you were wrong? Let's do it God's way and make the most of our second chance if we get it again.
Our Awesome God wants to give you that second chance, or third or fourth, until you get it right. Come join us at our church or join any church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ, died for you and took your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin; giving you your second chance!
LWBC is a loving church who tries to live by Biblical principles while encouraging all its members. Join us for church this coming Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study. We have Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 10:30 AM and Sunday evening Bible Study at 6:00 PM along with AWANA for children (September through May) until 7:30 PM. Our programs are varied but we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. We love visitors!
"For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;"
(Song of Solomon 2:11-12 KJV)
"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him."
(Lamentations 3:21-24 KJV)
Many of us have gardens that have plants that come back each year when Spring comes and Winter is past. The lilies, tulips and crocuses pop up out of the ground to remind us that Our Awesome God gives an opportunity to rest and renew our strength before our next trial or temptation if we lean on Him.
There are times when we need to rest in the arms of Our Awesome God and absorb His peace, love and faithfulness. Some of us do this with vacations, some with retreats, some with fasting and some with frequent prayers and some use all of these methods to keep their focus on God. But be aware that there are "winters" in our lives. That is not unusual but we need the hope found in God's Holy Word and we should use it. Those "winters" need the renewal of "spring" in the form of Jesus Christ as our loving God planned it. As we remember at Easter, Jesus Christ died for us and rose from the dead to allow all those who believe in Him to live forever with Him. This great love and faithfulness is a gift to us, sinful people, and should be remembered in our darkest "winter" night because we can be assured that "spring" with it's renewal is on the way.
Renewal is Our Awesome God's plan to keep you from experiencing what we call "burnout" in our professional life and in our work for Him. So lean on our powerful God and on Jesus Christ to keep your feelings of peace, of love from above and the knowledge that He is there whenever you need Him. We need our God always.
Learn more about Our Awesome God by reading His Holy Bible, praying to Him and worshipping in a church which preaches and teaches the Holy Bible. Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a program for children called AWANA. We have a Prayer Meeting that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Learn with us how to use and invest your time with wisdom for Our Awesome God!
