"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."
(Isaiah 14:12, 14-15 KJV)
The above verses from the Book of Isaiah describes Satan's (Lucifer's) fall to earth after Our Awesome God had him ejected from heaven. Then he started his troubling of the nations of earth to dethrone Our Awesome God as God.
Lucifer means the "Bearer of Light" and it was the name of Satan before he rebelled against God because of his sin of pride. His pride got him removed from heaven. He was God's most beautiful angel and was proud of it. He felt that all should worship him and that he should replace God.
Luke 10:18 says, "And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:17-18 KJV). It appears that the name Lucifer was still accepted, even after Satan fell from heaven. Satan was and still is full of pride even though he knows he will end up in "the Lake of Fire" mentioned in Revelation 20:1-3 and that, in short, he lost the war with God when Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay our sin debt to God. When Satan uses his devious ways to start rumors and wars, his methods do not come from the power and righteousness of Our Awesome God. He just knows how to use man's sins against man to bring the worst traits out in man, to get man to sin more. We have to be careful to avoid him and, as much as possible, temptations to sin.
So if you are a Christian and believe in Jesus Christ, you should be telling all that you meet about Jesus Christ and what He has done for you and your sins. If you aren't a Christian, you need to come to our church or any church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. You can reject Satan as Our Awesome God did but you will need His helpis help!
Join us at LWBC as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard to tell everyone about Jesus Christ and His salvation. We start with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a children's program called AWANA until 7:30 PM. (September through May). On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and Bible Study along with a separate Spanish Bible Study until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
"And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel."
(Exodus 19:6 KJV)
Have you read your Bible from cover to cover? If you have, then you know that our God is Awesome and He always has a purpose or mission to accomplish in what and how He does anything. Have you stopped to think about what God's mission was in putting us on a new planet called earth and providing us with all we need to live and multiply? The Bible tells us but we get so interested in all the things God tells us to do, be and say along with all the stories about our forefathers that we don't really comprehend or focus on His mission.
Let's divide God's mission up according to the Holy Bible in which He tells what His Mission is. We can see, at least, three ways it could divided: 1) The mission of God in the Old Testament. It is explained in Exodus 19:6 and Isaiah 52:7-10, where God explains that He intended for Israel to show His salvation to the ends of the earth. 2) The mission of God in the New Testament is explained in Matthew 28:18-20, 1Peter 2:9 and Romans 10:14-15. This is where God is Awesome as He explains that He desires that we reach the world for Christ. 3) The mission of God in the last days is explained in Revelation 5:9 and Revelation14:6. In these Scriptures God tells us His plan is to reach every people group on the face of the earth so that they can choose to make Our Awesome God their God or not.
This is why we see Paul start on missionary journeys to the cities and peoples of his time. The Church at Philippi is only one such example in the Bible, of God reaching out to a group of people not in Israel. (Revelation 1:7) God strengthened Paul for this work and Paul spent his life following Christ's example of telling everyone about God and Jesus Christ. Can we do the one thing Our Awesome God desires: that all should know about His Son, Jesus Christ, and His saving power?
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday. At 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we have Bible Study. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Meeting and Bible Study along with a separate Spanish Bible Study. We love visitors!
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
(John 11:25-26 KJV)
The Apostle John wrote the above Holy Scripture with the help of Our Awesome God. In all five of the Books of the Bible that he wrote, and were later included in the King James Holy Bible, his words emphasized that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, sent by the Father to take away the sins of the world. John often referred to himself as "the disciple Jesus loved".
Before becoming disciples, he and his brother, James were fishermen and were among the first called by Jesus. John, James, and Peter were the inner circle around Jesus during His ministry on earth. John, though the youngest, was honored to be with Jesus along with James and Peter at the time when Jairus' daughter was brought back from the dead, during the transfiguration on the mountain top and as witnesses to the agony of Jesus at Gethsemane.
John knew Joseph Caiaphas which made him able to attend Jesus' trial at the high priest's house. He was the only one of the twelve apostles who was present at the cross. John knew Jesus and his love for Jesus helped make him fearless as he later proclaimed the gospel after Jesus' death. He became an elder in the early church and assisted in spreading the gospel message. After Pentecost, John joined Peter to fearlessly preach the gospel in Jerusalem where he suffered beatings and imprisonment for it.
John worked in the church in Jerusalem for years, then he went to work in the church at Ephesus. A legend says that John, during a persecution, was taken to Rome in chains and thrown into a pot of boiling oil but emerged unhurt. That was before he was exiled to the island of Patmos where he wrote the Book of Revelation. John easily outlived all of the apostles and is reported to have died of old age at Ephesus about A.D. 98.
The love John had for Jesus Christ is an inspiration for all Christians. Are we as loving and faithful to Him as John was? Will we continue to serve Jesus Christ and spread His gospel to our world? Learn more about our Christian beliefs and Our Awesome God through the Holy Bible and preaching of that Bible.
Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
"If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in you safely."
(Leviticus 26:3, 5 KJV)
If we could just focus our lives on Jesus Christ and keep all Our Awesome God's commandments, we would never be hungry but would meet the threshers as we planted the next crop to eat. The children in Africa would not be starving and we would know food was everywhere. God promised this but we couldn't stay away from sin and what it does. So we have Poor People! So we have awful starvation! We have terrorists! We have death!
It gets harder and harder to find neighborhoods anywhere on earth that are free from robberies, murders and drugs. This is what we want for our children so that they aren't threatened and that their peers aren't liars, thieves, alcoholics, drug addicts, or worse. Our Awesome God wants His children to live free of all the problems we now have to face in our lives but, for now, He has promised to help us and protect us through them.
However, we have a new world coming free of sin and all the problems that our sinning has created. (Revelation 21:1-4) Can you imagine how wonderful this place will be? Nothing to worry about or cause you problems! No more liars! No more murders or drugs! Just blessings!
God wants you to focus on Him and getting sin out of your life, but He knows that it is impossible for you to avoid all sin as long as you live in this old world. What you can do is study your Bible and know His law so you will know when you have sinned. Then you can confess your sin and claim Our Awesome God’s promise of forgiveness and cleansing. (1 John 1:9) We need to start in our own lives then help our children along the same path to righteousness. As Our Awesome God becomes the focus of your life, you will find a weight lifting from your shoulders and a feeling of freedom infecting your lives. God wants our lives to be happy and filled with purpose, not burdened with sin and dejection. Only Christians will find this new home called Heaven with enough to eat for everyone.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that can show you how to become a Christian and tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV) Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Praise/Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. And there is more during the week. We love visitors!
"And he went up from thence unto Beth–el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them."
(2 Kings 2:23, 24 KJV)
This sounds horrible when we read what happened to these teenage to 25-year-old men. The term used by the author to refer to these young men is one that is quite flexible. It is used for a young child, but it can also refer to what we would call a “young man.” It is apparent that these are not “little boys” who accost Elisha, but “young men.” They were mocking God's chosen one - they were mocking Our Awesome God. What did Elisha "see" when he "turned back and looked on them?" Did he "see" all the sins they (God's people) had committed against God?
Scripture doesn't say that Elisha called up those bears. Our Awesome God called the bears. If God did it, He did it for a definite purpose or reason. So let's look at this for a moment and see what the reason could have been. This was a time that God's people were worshipping those "gods" made by the hands of man. Was Our Awesome God warning His people of the upcoming destruction of all Canaan by the Babylonians under King Nebuchnezzar? They needed to turn from their wicked ways and return to Yahweh. God always warns us! We just don't listen. And neither did they listen. They just kept insulting God!
Is Our Awesome God warning us of the coming Tribulation? Or maybe He is telling us with this long ago story that we, as a nation, are following false "gods" as the nation of Israel did. Are you following the true God? Or are you following a "world god?"
Come join us at our church or join any church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ, died for you and took your sins upon Himself, arising the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. Read the Book in the Bible called Revelation which talks about the time coming called Tribulation. Read the website tomorrow, 8/29/15, for #3 Elisha's Servant, Gehazi.
If you are a Christian who has strayed away from Our Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 10:30 AM for praise and worship, Sunday at 6:00 PM is Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM (September through May). On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study. We welcome all people and love them!
"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judea flee to the mountains:"
(Matthew 24:15-16 KJV)
Our Awesome God had His Biblical writers to write only seven Bible passages referring to what is called the "abomination of desolation". Three are in the Old Testament Book of Daniel, three are quotes of Jesus in the gospels and one is in Revelation. Other than the "future," the time of the event is not given and none of them give a clear description. Taken together, however, we can assemble some of the circumstances and certain actions that will take place.
First of all, Our Awesome God had the one writer state that the location clearly would be the Temple in Jerusalem. It is in a time of conquest when a foreign army surrounds the city. The actual event is the installation of an idol in the temple by the conquering commander who requires it to be worshipped as our God was. One event that fits the facts has already occurred. Antiochus IV Epiphanes conquered Jerusalem in 167 BC and set up an image of Zeus, along with an alter, in the temple. This may have been the fulfillment of one of Daniel's prophecies but it obviously is not the event of Jesus' warning.
Revelation 13:14-15 of our Holy Bible describes an event in the middle of the tribulation period, which is also consistent with all the prophesies. The "False Prophet" will set up an image of the "Beast" or Antichrist in the rebuilt temple and require its worship as a god on pain of death.
"The 'Abomination of Desolation' Identified at Last (by 7 Clues)" http://www.escapeallthesethings.com/abomination-desolation.htm, a paper by Tim McHyde, uses these seven scriptures and a few others to give us a basis for understanding and reasons for not believing other theories which have been offered over the years.
We need to know what these Bible Scriptures are saying and realize that, if you are a Christian, you won't go through the Tribulation Period. But read Tim McHyde's paper on the "Abomination of Desolation" referenced above because it will be a Terrible Time to live on earth.
If you are a Christian who has strayed away from Our Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study and at 10:30 AM for Worship Service. At 6:00 PM we have a Bible Study with AWANA for children (September through May) until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We welcome all people and love them!
"And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
(Isaiah 25:9 KJV)
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil… And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"
(Ephesians 5:15-16, 18 KJV)
Your time here on earth is fleeting (life) and then gone. Store up those "Precious Memories" of life here on earth, because heaven with Our Awesome God will eclipse anything that happens on earth. Our life here on earth is just preparation for heaven and eternity.
As we wait here on earth for Jesus Christ's Second Coming (the Rapture of the His People) to happen, we need to remember the wise virgins and that they were prepared for the Bridegroom to come. Are we following Our Awesome God's commandments? Are we obedient? Are we loving all of God's people? Are we preparing ourselves for heaven and eternity as heirs to God's kingdom? Don't grow weary doing what Our Awesome God asks us to do. We are waiting for our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ to come. Keep alert and keep improving your skills by trying what God wants you to learn to do. Read the Book of Revelation in the Bible and try to imagine how you will feel as each scene described happens.
Don't get impatient for Jesus Christ to come. You should be adding more crowns and remembering why God is waiting for that perfect time for Jesus Christ to come. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9 KJV) Yes, God is waiting until all have heard about Him and have had the chance to become Christians before sending Jesus Christ back.
Our Awesome God wants all to come to heaven but we each are choosing what we want...heaven or "the fiery pit". God wants each of us in a church that believes in Jesus Christ, a church that preaches and teaches from the Bible, focusing on God and Jesus. The church should be loving, living by Biblical principles, and encouraging to its members. Use your time on earth wisely for Our Awesome God. See you in heaven if not before!
Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we have Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. Our programs include Home Bible Studies and a Wednesday Prayer Meeting but are varied as we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible. We love visitors and practice the "love one another" commandment to all.
