"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."
(Jeremiah 23:5, 6 KJV)
Jehovah-Tsidkenu means "The Lord Our Righteousness." He is straight, stiff and balanced as if on scales. He is full weight with justice and righteousness to declare innocence of any or all and He is always right.
A question we might ask ourselves is "what exactly is righteousness?” We can describe righteousness as being morally right, blameless, guiltless, holy, innocent, just or sinless. But none of us would use these adjectives to describe ourselves, yet each one of these words describes Our Awesome God and all His actions. Even in His judgment of Israel, God had a plan to restore them to Himself. He will always do what is right on our behalf because of His righteousness and His great love for us. It says in Deuteronomy 32:4, “He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He”.
Jehovah-Tsidkenu, then, is and will be a wonderful judge, dispensing decisions that are strict enough without being too strict and, unlike our present judges, He will know if that person really did what he/she is accused of and why they did it. He will not take bribes or be forced into doing something wrong. He is Our Awesome God. He will know what is right for each person and sin, and He will pass sentence accordingly.
Won't it be wonderful to be judged by someone who knows the truth without any of the evidence, found or not. Our Awesome God doesn't need any evidence to know what was done and who is guilty. And we Christians will truly be free of our sinful natures and be made morally right, blameless, guiltless, holy, innocent, just and sinless. Praise the LORD!. We Christians will WIN! Know the BIBLE and Our Awesome God.
Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we have Bible Study along with AWANA for children (September through May) until 7:30 PM. Our programs include Home Bible Studies and a Wednesday Prayer Meeting but are varied as we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible. We love visitors and practice the "love one another" commandment to all.
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
(Ephesians 6:16 KJV)
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
(Galatians 5:16 KJV)
The Armor of Our Awesome God consists of not only the Belt of Truth and the Breastplate of Righteousness but also there are
3) Gospel Shoes---to help you walk, talk and proclaim the gospel and peace of Jesus Christ to all in your path. Paul says in Romans, "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! " (Romans 10:15 KJV). Jesus sent us to spread the Gospel to all people in the world. Are we doing it to those near us as well as the foreigner? Those standing on the gospel will not react in the flesh. Instead, they will be moved by God's Spirit with a protected disregard for such "fleshly" considerations, being "readied" by the "shoes" of the "death, burial, and resurrection of Christ", which is the Gospel that brings peace.
Our Awesome God knows how to be sure His Words never return empty but instead make people realize there is a living God who loves and wants you to enjoy His Heaven with Him forever. So speak those Words about Jesus Christ and tell them about a risen savior who created everything.
4) Shield of Faith---to protect and secure you against the fiery darts of doubt, fear and unbelief used by Satan. Peter says, "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:5 KJV). Our Shield of Faith keeps us from believing the people around us who try to make us doubt Our Awesome God as Satan did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. Keep your faith in God strong for the Spiritual Battles are increasing in intensity as the Return of Christ draws closer.
These are obviously not the usual objects put on for protection when fighting. But these are God's protection for you against Satan. God has already won. Now you, with God's help, need to overcome Satan and spread the news about Jesus Christ. You can with the Armor of God and Our Awesome God. So read your Bible, especially Ephesians 6:10-18, pray, attend church and read our website on 6/08/15 about #4 Whole Armor of God. May Our Awesome God bless you with even greater blessings!
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12 KJV). Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour and AWANA for children is held. And there is more during the week. We love visitors!
"Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war."
(Proverbs 20:18 KJV)
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
(Ephesians 6:10-11 KJV)
When you put on the Armor of God, you need to understand how the armor will help to defend your against "the devil" (Satan). The armor that Our Awesome God provides is mentioned below and is used as follows;
1) Belt of Truth---to protect my mind and emotions that they will stand firm concerning the truth of Jesus Christ, "But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;" (Colossians 3:8-9). So you will not use your mouth to become as Satan is with his lies, deceitfulness, getting angry, saying malicious things and blasphemy. You need to listen to the advice of your Awesome God in His Holy Bible (Ephesians 6:11) and put on the Armor of God to keep your words true and your protection in place.
2) Breastplate of Righteousness---to protect the Christian's soul and will, Our Awesome God said to, "And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; ..." (Exodus 28:15). This should help with practicing discernment of what is right and wrong (Psalms 28:15) and again, protecting yourself with God's help from Satan's attacks on you.
As the Spiritual Attacks increase, you will need the whole Armor of God to withstand Satan as he realizes Our Awesome God is getting ready to send Jesus Christ back to earth (the Second Coming). Are you ready for Jesus' Return?
It is important that when Jesus Christ returns, we are ready to go with Him and not found wanting. We need to know and understand all we can about Our Awesome God and His purpose for us. We certainly don't want to be left here when Jesus comes, for He is the Bridegroom. So, put on the Belt of Truth to protect your mind and emotions that they will stand firm concerning the truth of Jesus Christ and the Breastplate of Righteousness to protect you. Tomorrow read #3 Arming Your Feet.
Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 9:30 AM for Bible Study and 10:30 AM for worship Service, then again at 6:00 PM for Bible Study with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and Bible Study. First, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your creator and Savior.
"To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
(Ephesians 1:6-7 KJV)
The biblical meaning of grace is defined as divine blessing and unmerited favor from Our Awesome God, that brings joy and salvation to undeserving man. The word "Grace" goes beyond that, even to love given by a perfect God, Father God, to imperfect man who continues to sin and needs God's grace. The Book of Titus says, "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" (Titus 3:3-5 KJV)
We need to talk about what, next to Jesus, is the sweetest word in all of the Bible, the word, "Grace." Without Grace you cannot know Our Awesome God. Without Grace you cannot understand God. Without Grace you cannot relate to God. There is not a word that is more important to the Christian than the word, Grace.
The Greek word, "charis" gives the idea of enabling and giving generously without thought of any return this is grace as God gives it. The receiver feels love and thankfulness. Grace is an attribute of Our Awesome God and can be thought of as the reason for all favors given to us by God. God’s love makes Him want to give to us in spite of our disobedient behavior and His Grace allows it to happen without compromising His righteousness. God’s righteousness still requires death as the payment for sin and Our Awesome God has also fulfilled that requirement through Jesus Christ, His ultimate act of Grace.
Our Awesome God wants you to recognize that everything, even life itself, is given through His Grace. He has revealed Himself through His Grace so you can know and understand Him and His Laws. His Grace provides a way for you to become His child and inherit eternal life. Join a church that reads the Bible, prays and preaches that Jesus, the Son of God, is our Savior giving us grace.
Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Our programs include AWANA for children on Sunday at 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM and a Bible Study. We love visitors and practice the "love one another" commandment to all.
"And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever."
(2 Chronicles 7:3 KJV)
"And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God".
(Mark 10:18 KJV)
Goodness is a part of God's nature. In the Bible, the "goodness" of Our Awesome God often refers to His generosity in providing abundantly for mankind's needs and benefits before we ask (Psalms 23:6). It can also refer to God's generous mercy and patience that allows more time for sinners to repent (Romans 2:4). Think of the centuries He has waited and watched mankind sin and has not yet sent Jesus Christ to bring His Christian children home in the "Rapture."
God's goodness is much more than just those things. It is the very essence of Our Awesome God's nature — His righteousness and holiness. In Ephesians 5:9, we can see that His goodness is closely associated with righteousness and truth to the extent that, if we have God's goodness, we have godliness or God-likeness. This is what all Christians attempt to emulate and cannot without His help and then never to the extent that God has it. His goodness is so great that it lights all of heaven.
The Holy Bible gives us God's complete "instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). We should cherish it and read it far more than any other book or resource we have! Only through it and prayer can we learn to be like God. Our Awesome God summarizes His standards of goodness in the Ten Commandments. Psalm 119:172 tells us that "all Your commandments are righteousness." So God intends that they be our guides for life. Are they yours?
Christians should be trying to have more of God's goodness so that they are more like Jesus Christ. This may take more than a life time. Our Awesome God will decide when He can use us because He knows when our conviction is firmly grounded. He even knows what He will have you do (maybe after the first thousand years of heaven). What would you like to do for God? Rule a town or city? Move to a new planet or universe? Plant new vineyards or trees? Sing in His Royal Choir or paint new pictures of new lands God has created? Who knows what God wants us to do? We will need the goodness of God to succeed.
Join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others and reminding ourselves about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a children's program called AWANA. There is more during the week of Bible Studies in homes and Prayer Meeting on Wednesday. We love visitors!
