"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
(Psalms 100:1, 4 KJV)
"Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him."
(Psalms 68:4 KJV)
The best way to start a day is with praise and worship for Our Awesome God. It always begins the day on a positive note and we usually find that, at the end of a day, the day has been productive. Sometimes, we get all tense knowing some of the obstacles in our paths for a certain day. We do better if we start all days with a small worship service of our own. Read His Holy Bible, pick a praise Psalm and read it, tell our Father the problems you are concerned about, sing praises to Jesus Christ and lay your problems at Jesus' feet.
This sharing of your concerns with Someone who can do something about the problem will relieve that tension you have and you'll feel better. Knowing that Our Awesome God loves us (1 John 4:10) and does all things for our good (Romans 8:28) gives us great comfort in the tumult of this world. He keeps His promises and is always there with a strong arm to help us. We need to remind ourselves of His love, faithfulness and righteousness. So we should have a daily worship for Our Awesome God as we begin each day. Plan for it!! Make it happen.
You can vary your worship service as you want and need, using Our Awesome God's promises, praise songs, His attributes, Jesus Christ's love for us and naming the things God has done. We humans tend to forget what God has promised and done for us and we can become discouraged when we have problems. But if you dedicate a regular time every day to hold a personal worship period, it will keep you closer to Our Awesome God and remind you of His power and love. It will make your day more peaceful and less tense to live when you start it by worshipping God.
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study along with AWANA for children 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:19 KJV)
"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
(Psalms 37:25 KJV)
A good definition of Needs would be: anything without which a person cannot live or function to his maximal ability in the tasks to which God has called him or her. (Paraphrased from Easton's Bible Dictionary). Our Awesome God is committed to meeting your needs. He has always done what He said He would do (Genesis 17:16-17). He is unchanging and faithful (Hebrews 13:8). God created all things and all things belong to Him (Genesis 1:1), so He is more than rich enough to provide all the necessary things for His people.
So why do you feel that your "needs" aren't all being met? Most of the time, the real needs are taken care of but there are other things included that you want badly but can do without. We call these "wants" and they are often difficult to separate from the needs.
So let's look at specific needs as defined above. Basic individual needs are: food, water, shelter, clothing, some form of transportation and some have special medical needs. Everyone needs these just for survival.
Our Awesome God has given us responsibilities and tasks that generate needs under specific circumstances. We are to pay our debts (Psalm 37:21) and taxes (Romans 13:6-7). We must provide for our families (1st Timothy 5:8). We are to be involved with teaching the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20).
All of these may generate needs that often are unique to the individual and Our Awesome God has promised to supply them all. But He doesn't say when and He wants you to ask Him for each one so you will clearly see His provision. Sometimes our wants sneak into our needs. You may ask for a new minivan for your family transportation need and receive an old microbus.
Probably most people in our society have more wants than needs. Sometimes the desire is so strong that it honestly feels like a need. But apply the definition and be honest: can I live and function without it? If so, then it is probably just a want. That doesn't say you can't have any wants! It's OK to ask God for your wants. He will often give them to you if it won't tempt you or hurt you, because He loves you.
God wants you to realize He loves you and would never harm you. Our Awesome God wants you to trust Him with your needs as well as all other aspects of your life. It takes giving all yourself to God, not just part of you, but a complete surrender to God who loves you unconditionally. Praise the Lord! See you in church.

"And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel."
(Exodus 19:6 KJV)
Have you read your Bible from cover to cover? If you have, then you know that our God is Awesome and He always has a purpose or mission to accomplish in what and how He does anything. Have you stopped to think about what God's mission was in putting us on a new planet called earth and providing us with all we need to live and multiply? The Bible tells us but we get so interested in all the things God tells us to do, be and say along with all the stories about our forefathers that we don't really comprehend or focus on His mission.
Let's divide God's mission up according to the Holy Bible in which He tells what His Mission is. We can see, at least, three ways it could divided: 1) The mission of God in the Old Testament. It is explained in Exodus 19:6 and Isaiah 52:7-10, where God explains that He intended for Israel to show His salvation to the ends of the earth. 2) The mission of God in the New Testament is explained in Matthew 28:18-20, 1Peter 2:9 and Romans 10:14-15. This is where God is Awesome as He explains that He desires that we reach the world for Christ. 3) The mission of God in the last days is explained in Revelation 5:9 and Revelation14:6. In these Scriptures God tells us His plan is to reach every people group on the face of the earth so that they can choose to make Our Awesome God their God or not.
This is why we see Paul start on missionary journeys to the cities and peoples of his time. The Church at Philippi is only one such example in the Bible, of God reaching out to a group of people not in Israel. (Revelation 1:7) God strengthened Paul for this work and Paul spent his life following Christ's example of telling everyone about God and Jesus Christ. Can we do the one thing Our Awesome God desires: that all should know about His Son, Jesus Christ, and His saving power?

On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Meeting and Bible Study along with a separate Spanish Bible Study. We love visitors!
"And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the Lord."
(2 Chronicles 30:21 KJV)
Can you sing? When you sing to the Lord, He does not want perfect harmony. (If He did He would have made you that way) He wants your hearts' praise for Himself. So we who cannot sing have a chance to tell Him how wonderful He is. Singing is an expression of how our heart really feels about the One who created us from dust then saved us by sending His Son to die for us.
Here are a few of the reasons we should sing praises to Our Awesome God: 1) We love Him and sing His Praises because He is worthy of our praise and none are more worthy than He (Revelations 5:9 KJV). 2) We praise Him in song because He is our awesome strength (Romans 5:6-11 KJV). 3) We sing our praises because He gives us salvation from our sins (Exodus 14:13 KJV). And 4) Because we believe in Him and Jesus Christ..
When He forgives us, our hearts are lightened and we are encouraged to go on. Yes, when we sing His praises, He gives us hope, forgiveness and a home in heaven for eternity with Him. Which of His praise songs do you like the most? Sing them!
When you really look at the situation, you see that your attitude will change from not being able to sing praises to realizing what your singing does for yourself and for God. It will become a positive in your life, a need to say, "I love you, God," in another way and a need to thank Him for what He has done and will do. Yes, sing praises to Our Awesome God and reap the marvelous benefits. Make your heart happy and your burdens lighter by singing and praising our God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Heaven has a choir! Are you going to be a member?

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
(2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV)
We all want to improve, to become better and to see our progress toward a goal and we want it to be a steady improvement. Our Awesome God has given us the goal of becoming more like Jesus but that is much too broad for us and we have to select a smaller attribute to focus on. You may want, possibly, an improvement in our being kind to others, or to increase the amount of love we show others; you may want an improvement in your fruits of the spirit, and/or just to be good to others all the time.
Most of us try improving or changing things by ourselves. This either works for only a short time or doesn't work at all. We find ourselves in deeper than before we started and, therefore, usually find it harder to break that bad habit and improve. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would be with us to help us and we need to use Him. And praying helps get Our Awesome God involved in helping and providing ideas to help you overcome those unwanted habits that need improving. We should believe "...If God is for us who can stand against us?" (Romans 8:31 KJV) Our God is in the business of improving His children and preparing them for heaven and eternity.
Improving takes time, determination and help from Our Awesome God. It rarely happens over night but it requires a determination on your part and help from the Holy Trinity to really improve. If you do it by yourself, you will decide you did it and you can do it again (pride) without help. Now you are in trouble. You have a lot of improving to do!
The amount of time it will take you to improve depends upon you. Just like when you were saved, you need to realize you have a problem you can't solve by yourself and ask for Our Awesome God to help you. Then really turn the problem over to Him without guilt on our part and excuses following His leading after repenting and confessing it. He loves you, His child! Improving is important because none of us is perfect yet.
Our Awesome God accepts anyone who realizes that they are sinning and is ready to stop sinning and do it God's way. Come tell Him just as you are. All Christians have, because only our Lord can get rid of sin for you permanently. Don't wait!

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Paul of Tarsus
By Jack Zavada
"The Apostle Paul, who started as one of Christianity's most zealous enemies, was hand-picked by Jesus Christ to become the gospel's most ardent messenger. Paul traveled tirelessly through the ancient world, taking the message of salvation to the Gentiles. Paul towers as one of the all-time giants of Christianity.
"The Apostle Paul's Accomplishments:
When Saul of Tarsus, who was later renamed Paul, saw the resurrected Jesus Christ on the Damascus Road, Saul converted to Christianity. He made three long missionary journeys throughout the Roman Empire, planting churches, preaching the gospel, and giving strength and encouragement to early Christians. Of the 27 books in the New Testament, Paul is credited as the author of 13 of them. While he was proud of his Jewish heritage, Paul saw that the gospel was for the Gentiles as well. Paul was martyred for his faith in Christ by the Romans, about 64 or 65 A.D...
"Paul had a brilliant mind, a commanding knowledge of philosophy and religion, and could debate with the most educated scholars of his day. At the same time, his clear, understandable explanation of the gospel made his letters to early churches the foundation of Christian theology. Tradition portrays Paul as a physically small man, but he endured enormous physical hardships on his missionary journeys. His perseverance in the face of danger and persecution has inspired countless missionaries since...

Paul was famous and did many things that furthered Christianity but most of all he was persistent and never gave up because Paul realized that Our Awesome God never gave up on him even when he was killing Christians. We as Christians should be as persistent as Paul. Come join us as we at LWBC learn more about Our Awesome God and His purposes for His adopted children. We have Worship Services each Sunday at 10:30 AM. We love visitors and seekers of God.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
(Matthew 28:19 KJV)
The concept of the Trinity is one of the hardest for mankind to accept and to understand. And if we don't understand something perfectly, how do we explain it to someone else? But Our Awesome God expects us to tell others so we need to learn about the Trinity.
If we are Christian, we believe in Our Awesome God whom we have never seen, but we certainly don't understand Him all the time. Though we will never have His knowledge we can, through faith and study, learn what our Holy Bible teaches about the Trinity.
The concept of the Trinity, as taught in the Bible, is that the Father is God, that the son, Jesus Christ, is God and that the Holy Spirit is God. And yet, Our Awesome God is only one God. Each exists at the same time, (coexists), each is co-powerful and each is coeternal with the other two. In John 14:24, Jesus Christ told us that God had sent Him and in John 14:26 and then in John 16:7, He tells us that the Holy Spirit (Comforter) would be sent by His Father and then by Himself. So there must be three separate centers of consciousness in Our Awesome God.
We need to be aware that the Biblical term is, "Godhead," and it is found in three different Books of the Holy Bible: Romans 1:20; Acts 17:29 and Colossians 2:9. But the word we have been using, "trinity," is not found in the Holy Bible. It is a theological word we use for the Godhead. It may describe the Godhead better but it doesn’t explain it. Our Awesome God will not be understood by our inferior minds but we will understand more about Him and the Trinity in heaven.
