"To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
(Ephesians 1:6-7 KJV)
The biblical meaning of grace is defined as divine blessing and unmerited favor from Our Awesome God that brings joy and salvation to undeserving man. The word "Grace" goes beyond that, even to love given by a perfect God, Father God, to imperfect man who continues to sin and need God's grace. The Book of Titus says, "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" (Titus 3:3-5 KJV)
We need to talk about what, next to Jesus, is the sweetest word in all of the Bible, the word, "Grace." Without Grace you cannot know Our Awesome God. Without Grace you cannot understand God. Without Grace you cannot relate to God. There is not a word that is more important to the Christian than the word, Grace.
The Greek word, "charis" gives the idea of enabling and giving generously without thought of any return. This is grace as God gives it. The receiver feels love and thankfulness. Grace is an attribute of Our Awesome God and can be thought of as the reason for all favors given to us by God. God’s love makes Him want to give to us in spite of our disobedient behavior and His Grace allows it to happen without compromising His righteousness. God’s righteousness still requires death as the payment for sin and Our Awesome God has also fulfilled that requirement through Jesus Christ, His ultimate act of Grace.
Our Awesome God wants you to recognize that everything, even life itself, is given through His Grace. He has revealed Himself through His Grace so you can know and understand Him and His Laws. His Grace provides a way for you to become His child and inherit eternal life.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
(Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV)
Self-image teachers would like us to believe that we must have good self-images or else the devil will have a strong foothold in our lives. They believe that a poor self-image will keep us from recognizing our worth to Our Awesome God and therefore we won’t accept His gift of salvation. Satan just loves it when fads like this get started.
When we evaluate ourselves according to sound judgment, what do we find? As believers we will find that Our Awesome God has reached down to us totally by His grace to save unworthy sinners, making us children of God! We have been made worthy by God, not because we deserved it, but because of God’s love (Romans 5:8, John 3:16). Our value is not based upon a comparison of ourselves with others (as a matter of fact, that is forbidden in 2 Corinthians 10:12) but upon the position that we have in Christ as "...heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ..." (Romans 8:17 KJV)
As Christians, are we supposed to think badly about ourselves? Not at all! The Scriptural position is that we are to focus on Our Awesome God and others, not ourselves (Matt. 22:36-40). Any preoccupation with self (either in thinking too highly or too lowly) is an unbiblical response to God’s Word. Scripture starts from the position that we already love ourselves and commands us to love others equally. As a matter of fact, we are to put the interests of others before our own.
Our Awesome God knows that our preoccupation with self is a barrier to our believing and accepting that He would do all He has done to make us His children. We need to stop worrying about our self image and start remembering that Jesus Christ said to "love your neighbor as yourself". Focus on God and other people, not on yourself. Come join us at Living Word Baptist Church or find a Bible preaching, believing and teaching church close to you. But don't believe fads that people come up with. Instead, test it against a good Bible that was translated from the originally written languages. Read and know the Bible!!Join us at Living Word Baptist Church at 10:30 AM every Sunday and Bible Study is at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening. We have an Intercessory Prayer Team and Bible Study at 7:00 PM Monday and Wednesday. Learn with us how to use and invest your time with wisdom for Our Awesome God!
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?".
(Romans 10:14 KJV)
Helping Our Awesome God change lives has always lifted me up, excited me and given me a goal with a purpose. It always makes me feel victorious knowing that Jesus Christ saved them and has allowed me to help Him. The victory, the winning, feels like it is mine. Helping others to understand why Jesus Christ became a man-God for me and took all that abuse plus His death for everyone makes me feel alive and victorious.
It is a feeling that you are dining on the very best of life as Our Awesome God and Jesus Christ save someone you have told about salvation through Jesus Christ. It should be our main purpose here on earth and yet most of us watch but don't actively get involved in telling others about the becoming a child of the King. This feeling of helping God change a life is addicting once you have experienced it.
We have living waters flowing out of us as we tell them about Our Awesome God and His precious Son, Jesus Christ. It should be our meat and drink as we see and meet so many who don't know or understand Him. Are you changing lives by telling others about salvation through Jesus Christ?
There are many ways of telling others about Jesus Christ and Our Awesome God. Sometimes you tell them verbally, sometimes you walk and talk as a Christian should and sometimes you give tracts and invite people to a church that preaches and tries to live as Jesus did. Sometimes you do all of it for one person but mostly you live as a Christian because it becomes what you are. Every day new ways to show or tell people how wonderful our God is become available. You need to become involved in changing lives while you strive to live as Jesus Christ would.
Come join us in our church as we become more active in changing lives and presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. We always need help and new ideas in presenting Jesus Christ to others. We would love to have you! Join us at LWBC every Sunday at 9:30 AM, we have small group Bible Studies and at 10:30 AM, we meet in the sanctuary for Worship Service. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM we have Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. Our programs include a Wednesday Prayer Meeting and Bible Study but are varied as we teach and preach from Our Awesome God's Holy Bible. We love visitors!
"And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat… But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness."
(Leviticus 16:8, 10 KJV)
The scapegoat was the animal that ceremonially carried the sins of the people away into the wilderness on the Day of Atonement, as Our Awesome God commanded (Leviticus 16:8,10). On the Day of Atonement, when the high priest went once a year into the Holy of Holies to offer sacrifices for his own sins and for those of all the people, two goats were brought before him. By lot, one was chosen to be “for the Lord.” This goat was slain as a sin offering, and its blood was sprinkled on God's objects to help cleanse the altar, the sanctuary, and the tent of meeting from the defilements over the past year.
The second goat was called the scapegoat as our Awesome God instructed. The High Priest, by laying his hands on the head of the goat and naming his own sins and all the sins of the people, ceremonially transferred them to the goat. All the men involved and the goats had been ritually cleansed before the Day of Atonement. Then one man took the goat out of the camp to a rough mountainous area and set him free.
The demand of the goats showed man's need for reconciliation with Our Awesome God and redemption from their sins. The first goat that was "for the Lord" was killed because there is a price and a payment for sin. Then the scapegoat left the camp with the sins of the people so that God could get close to His people, as He wanted.
Our Awesome God was setting the stage for the coming of His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem and bring salvation to man with His blood and to be our advocate at the side of God. He has set things up so that people no longer need a "scapegoat." We only need to believe in Jesus Christ and accept His payment to be free from our many sins. Pray to Our Awesome God, take His free gift of salvation and receive peace and freedom from your burden of sin. Will I see you in heaven?
Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a children's program called AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. There are plans for more Bible Discussions in homes during the week. Prayer meeting with Bible Study is on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. We love visitors!
"Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness."
(Exodus 23:1 KJV)
Do rumors disturb you? Notice the Bible Scripture above from Our Awesome God, which says we should not lie or spread rumors. Rumors and gossip grow like a fast growing cancer and they can be damaging. They begin as a small lie and soon become huge, killing most people's trust as they grow. People spread rumors as do the radio, press, TV and now the Internet and social media.
People who have rumors spread about themselves will need to guard against loss of trust in others and will need help from Our Awesome God to keep from becoming cynical and disillusioned with people. This is a time to get closer to God by frequent, if not almost constant, prayers to Him.
Here are three ways that, with Our Awesome God's help, you can decrease the damage rumors can do. 1) Be careful that you don't start a rumor or repeat one. The truth is that most of us tend to enjoy hearing something bad about people, but don't be guilty of repeating it, even if you know it’s true. Think of the good things about that person. 2) Defend anyone who is being plagued by gossip or rumors. Remind others that it may not be true and that "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." It is usually best to think of how you would feel if you were that person. 3) If you are the victim, remember that truth will out and Our Awesome God will know the truth.
Improve your knowledge and trust in God by attending a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ took your sins upon Himself and died for you, then rose on the third day and is now sitting by God, interceding for you when you sin. Our Awesome God wants you in heaven since He loves you already and so do the people of Living Word Baptist Church. Join us if you can!
Come work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about Him and reminding ourselves about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Praise and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a children's program called AWANA until 7:30 PM (September through May). There is prayer meeting and Bible Study on Wednesday at 7:00 PM and more Bible Studies in homes during the week. We love visitors!
"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them."
(Acts 16:25 KJV)
Silas was a leading member of Our Awesome God's first Christian community in Jerusalem and a colleague of Paul's. In the epistles, 2 Corinthians and 1 Thessalonians, he is called by a Roman name, Silvanus. He might have been a Roman citizen (Acts 16:37). In Jerusalem he was a prophet who preached (Acts 15:32) and was sent to Antioch, along with Paul and Barnabas, to convey resolutions adopted at the council of Jerusalem (Acts 15:22).
Our Awesome God's Scripture verse above finds Silas singing at midnight in a Roman prison after being beaten. As Paul and Silas sang, an earthquake shook the prison and soon he was helping Paul lead the guard and his family to salvation. A busy and tiring night but they stayed in the prison awaiting morning and release by town officials. He was released but all the prisoners had to hear them singing about God. What a wonderful way to witness joyfully to others around them and show others that they expected their God to take care of them.
Are we leaning on Our Awesome God and His faithfulness to take care of us as Silas did? Paul and Silas saw a miracle that night as God provided an earthquake, opened the locks on the cells and brought the message of salvation to others. Their hearts were singing even as they sang about God. They were happy and felt complete.
We too need to be about Our Awesome God's business of telling those around us about God and His son, Jesus Christ. Silas sang and told the jailor or guard about Jesus when he had to be exhausted and the prison stank and the air was fetid. If we sang and told people the plan of salvation, we might forget for a little while about our own problems. We will find our problems will have answers if we, even briefly, become involved in doing things for Our Awesome God. Do evangelism for the Lord as He asked. It will help your mind to clear and the answers to your problems will usually be there.
Our church is a loving church that wants to help others to a better understanding of Our Awesome God and His love, mercy and grace for all of mankind. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we love others while preaching and teaching from our Holy Bible about God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Our church has a Bible Study at 9:30 AM on Sunday and Worship Service at 10:30 AM and then at 6:00 PM there is another Bible Study. We love visitors!
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
(Genesis 3:15 KJV)
Though Jesus Christ was there during creation, God, through His Holy Bible, revealed slowly the coming of Jesus Christ to save man from His sins and to allow man a way to obtain eternal life with God in heaven. Over thousands of years, Our Awesome God gave us the promises and prophecies concerning Jesus Christ and what He would do for man.
Here are a few of them: 1) The Seed of the Woman found first in Genesis 3:15, predicted the virgin birth of our Savior. 2) The Seed of Abraham which is found in Genesis 12:1-13 kept God's people in the Abrahamic Covenant until it was fulfilled at the birth of Jesus Christ. 3) The Tribe of Judah narrowed the Savior to a certain tribe of Israel in Genesis 49:10. 4) The House of David was the family He was to be born into according to II Samuel 7:12,13. 5) The Son of a Virgin was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14. 6) The City of His Birth is found in Micah 5:2. 7) His Name is Revealed in Isaiah 7:14. 8) His Worship by the Gentiles is told in Isaiah 60:6. In His Holy Bible, Our Awesome God told us how, when, and where Jesus Christ would be born.
Can you imagine the excitement of those who had put all of the promises and prophecies together? Those that understood He would bring salvation to the Gentiles? The kings from the orient bearing three gifts travelled far to find Jesus Christ because they knew. Our Awesome God had controlled all the events so that each one happened as He planned it. God revealed why, what, when and how it should happen to provide us with the best of everything.
Our Awesome God keeps His promises and prophecies even after thousands of years. Is He your God? If not, you need to be sure you want to lose your place in heaven. Because heaven is for those who accept Christ as God's only begotten Son and believe in Him. Read your Bible!
Come join us at LWBC as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His Story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them and ourselves to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a children's program until 7:30 PM. Wednesday there is Bible Study and Prayer Requests at 7:00 PM. Come join us, we love visitors! May God bless you more this week!
