"Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee."
(Song of Solomon 8:5 KJV)
We all have something that causes us to want to lean on or get help from someone more knowledgeable, such as Our Awesome God. It may be something we know nothing about or have failed to overcome in the past, and we need someone to help us. Now, being a human, we don't want to admit that we are fearful of failure with this problem we have, so we try to get information from someone else without them knowing or we read up on the subject. In short, we do almost everything possible to keep from admitting we need help. Have you ever done that? Pride is awful!
Someone was praying the other day and they ended their prayer with "Oh, Lord help support us on every leaning side!" Immediately my attention was caught, this person was admitting they needed some help to keep them out of trouble. Their "leaning sides" needed support and he was admitting it by appropriately asking Our Awesome God for that support. This was a good person to know! And that name will be remembered!
Do you have a "leaning side?" Can you admit it and ask Our Awesome God for help? If you don't know God it is time you did. Seek a Holy Bible with no additions, such as a King James or a New King James Version, and a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you, taking your sins upon Himself and arose the third day to sit by God, interceding for you when you sin. If we do know Him we should be spending more time on our knees asking God for help and then using the help that He provides, whether it is strength, providing a person more knowledgeable in the subject or giving you the knowledge in some other way, He will provide. God is our Father and He is waiting for us to stop struggling and just ask Him. He loves you! He is my beloved for it brings me peace and a warm feeling of love.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV) Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Praise/Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. And there is more during the week. We love visitors!
"For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;"
(Song of Solomon 2:11-12 KJV)
"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him."
(Lamentations 3:21-24 KJV)
Many of us have gardens that have plants that come back each year when Spring comes and Winter is past. The lilies, tulips and crocuses pop up out of the ground to remind us that Our Awesome God gives an opportunity to rest and renew our strength before our next trial or temptation if we lean on Him.
There are times when we need to rest in the arms of Our Awesome God and absorb His peace, love and faithfulness. Some of us do this with vacations, some with retreats, some with fasting and some with frequent prayers and some use all of these methods to keep their focus on God. But be aware that there are "winters" in our lives. That is not unusual but we need the hope found in God's Holy Word and we should use it. Those "winters" need the renewal of "spring" in the form of Jesus Christ as our loving God planned it. As we remember at Easter, Jesus Christ died for us and rose from the dead to allow all those who believe in Him to live forever with Him. This great love and faithfulness is a gift to us, sinful people, and should be remembered in our darkest "winter" night because we can be assured that "spring" with it's renewal is on the way.
Renewal is Our Awesome God's plan to keep you from experiencing what we call "burnout" in our professional life and in our work for Him. So lean on our powerful God and on Jesus Christ to keep your feelings of peace, of love from above and the knowledge that He is there whenever you need Him. We need our God always.
Learn more about Our Awesome God by reading His Holy Bible, praying to Him and worshipping in a church which preaches and teaches the Holy Bible. Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour with a program for children called AWANA. We have a Prayer Meeting that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Learn with us how to use and invest your time with wisdom for Our Awesome God!
