"And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? "
(Luke 18:7, 8 KJV)
"God's timing is not ours to command. If we do not start the fire with the first strike of our match, we must try again. God does hear our prayer, but He may not answer it at the precise time we have appointed in our own minds. Instead, He will reveal Himself to our seeking hearts, though not necessarily when and where we may expect. Therefore we have a need for perseverance and steadfast determination in our life of prayer.
"In the old days of flint, steel and brimstone matches, people had to strike the match again and again, perhaps even dozens of times, before they got a spark to light their fire, and they were very thankful if they finally succeeded. Should we not exercise the same type of perseverance and hope regarding heavenly things? When it comes to faith, we have more certainty of success than we could ever have had with flint and steel, for we have God's promises as a foundation.
"May we, therefore, never despair. God's time for mercy will come -- in fact, it already has come, if our time for believing has arrived. Ask in faith without wavering, but never cease to petition the King simply because He has delayed His reply. Strike the match again and make the sparks fly. Yet be sure to have your tinder ready, for you will get a fire before long." Written by Charles H. Spurgeon in Streams in the Desert on page 430 of the 1997 edition by L. B. Cowman and published by Zondervan.
The above comment expresses encouragement we should have as we pray to Our Awesome God and His wonderful Son, Jesus Christ, and don't get immediate answers. Continue praying, for our God's time is not the same as ours but He will answer every prayer. The answer will be a "Yes, later, now, wait, or no". But He will answer! Just not always the way you might want. He uses your prayers together with His knowledge and wisdom to fulfill those prayers.
We invite you to our church services on Sunday morning (9:30 AM) and Worship Service at (10:30 AM) Then again Sunday evening (6:00 PM) for Bible Study along with AWANA for children which goes until 7:30 PM. Wednesday evening (7:00 PM) for Prayer Meeting and Bible Study. When you come, ask about the choir and Prayer Team. We love visitors and would enjoy meeting you and telling you about Our Awesome God!
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."
(1 John 5:14, 15 KJV)
Know that Our Awesome God wants us to ask Him for what we want. And He wants us to pray asking Him because He wants to bless us and to give us what we want. Do not ever doubt that! God is a loving, caring, giving Father to us.
Please remember, the Lord has a will and purpose about everything He does. That's because He's omniscient—He knows everything. But, He's not only omniscient, Our Awesome God is perfect in wisdom which means He knows what is best for us. And because God is good, He only wants to say yes to prayers that work for our welfare but most of all He wants what will make us understand and see the truth.
Humans on earth do not possess unlimited knowledge. No earth bound human alive knows the end from the beginning. But Our Awesome God does! Because that is so, we need to trust God and what His will is for us. We do not always know what is best for ourselves. We should be glad God has not said yes to all our prayers because we could be really messed up!
It is a blessing when Our Awesome God says no to prayers that do not agree with His will and wisdom. God did not design prayer as an avenue to just let us have our way but to teach us about consequences. God wants to bless us, but what we think would be a blessing often could be disastrous for us and the planet Earth! So He does His will because He knows the consequences if He doesn't.
We need to remember that God wants us to pray because, when we do, we begin to understand Our Awesome God and what His will is. God's way is the only way for our complete happiness! We have the authority to pray but we need to realize that, until we can understand all of God's Will and purpose for us, we need Him to control what really happens. Instead, we want it done our way which usually means disaster if we don't know His Will! You need to spend more time on your knees if you do not understand His complete purpose and Will. God is a loving Father who wants the very best for us! Pray!
