"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
(Genesis 1:27-28 KJV)
God is Awesome. He created us to keep or manage all the living things on the Earth that He had created. He made us out of the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7). God created us carefully with attention to detail, in His own image, then breathed life into us. It would take a Being (God) that knew exactly what was needed in an environment that He knew in detail because He had created it. But man needed to learn that God knew everything and man didn't. Man needed to worship and realize there is someone with more knowledge, wisdom, love and mercy than all of mankind. In fact, that awesome God gave mankind all of his good characteristics. God is Awesome and He loves what He has created!
Our God commanded us to manage this world (Earth) for Him and let all things multiply, both us and all other living things. Now, He knew we would not do it right, even as He knew we would sin. But God had made a beautiful and perfect place called Eden with everything we and the animals needed to live and multiply.
God is Awesome because He loves us even as we sin (John 3:16). He always knew, with the right amount of love and help from Him, we could do it the right way -- and some of us would. He would need to teach us how to live with each other and love all other people more than ourselves. Mankind would need to learn that God has rules for us to live by even as our own governments have rules we live by. But God knew we could do it because He created us and made us able to do it (Genesis 1:27 KJV).
Are you able to obey God's perfect rules and to love Him? Yes, you can, with God's Awesome help. Begin the year with the resolve to give up what you consider as your greatest sin. Repenting is hard but necessary. Find one or more Bible verses that prove to you that it is a sin and read or recite them whenever you are tempted to commit that sin. When you find yourself doing that sin, stop immediately and pray your confession to God and ask for His forgiveness (1 John 1:9). Meanwhile, start obeying God's commandments more! He wants you to work with Him! God wants you to admit He is your God, the Creator, the Supreme and only God of the universe!
If you are a Christian who has strayed away from this Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a program for children called AWANA which goes until 7:30 PM. We have a Prayer Meeting and Bible Study that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
