"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: " (James 1:12 -13 KJV)
When looking for information about Our Awesome God testing us, I found this saying with no name, "Satan tempts us to bring out the worst in us, but God tests us to bring out the best in us." Because the statement is true, we need to realize that God does not tempt us, so our temptations come from two basic sources and they are our lustful sinning nature (James 1:14-15) or Satan and his minions (1 Peter 5:8). The important thing to know is: what was your response to temptation? The response you have when tempted determines whether you will stand firm in your faith or commit that sin. Whether you are faithful to God or if you will please yourself by sinning.
We need to remember that Our Awesome God tests us to bring out the best in us (Romans 15:3-4). He tests us to make us stronger and more confident of our strength and of the help God will provide us. Sometimes He tests us by allowing us to be tempted but He will not allow more than we can withstand and always gives us a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). We need to remember that even Jesus Christ was tempted (Luke 4:1-13). We should know that there is nothing wrong with our being tempted. It is a way of testing and improving us.
Our Awesome God is always pushing us toward improvement, toward perfection, and testing is one way to do that. He loves us and wants only the best for us. We are the ones who cannot always believe that God is one who wants only good for us. God tests us!
If you are not a Christian, know that Our Awesome God wants to adopt you as His child. He wants you to become a Christian so you can live with Him in heaven and reap all the benefits of being His child. One of those benefits will be God’s testing you, for He doesn't test unbelievers.
We would love to tell you about Our Awesome God and His Son, Jesus Christ, and how to become a child of God. If you are already a Christian, we always need Christian teachers and new ideas in presenting Our Awesome God to others.
Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour along with a program for children called AWANA which goes until 7:30 PM.. We have a Prayer Meeting and Bible Study that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
