"Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church."
(1 Corinthians 14:12 KJV)
"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
(1 Peter 4:10 KJV)
The Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (11th ed.) has the definition of Gift as: 1. a notable capacity, talent or endowment; 2. something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation; or 3. the act, right or power of giving.
Most of our information about spiritual gifts comes from Our Awesome God's Bible. It was given to us by two of Jesus Christ's apostles, Paul and Peter, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The New Testament reveals God’s truth about Spiritual Gifts in 1 Corinthians 12:1, 4; 4:1, 12; Romans 1:11; 12:6; Ephesians 4:8, 11-12; and 1 Peter 4:10. These Bible verses give an understanding of the nature and purpose of God's gifts to Christians and what He expects you to do with them.
Every Christian has one or more Spiritual Gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. Ephesians 4:7 says that to each one of us was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. I Corinthians 12:30 points out that no one possesses all of the spiritual gifts with the exception of Jesus Christ. When Spiritual Gifts are given they will point to God's love for us and they are to be used for the good of all and for God's glory. Unbelievers do not possess Spiritual Gifts though they may have other giftedness from God such as natural talents, often inherited from parents, and skills gained by instruction and practice.
Our Awesome God wants all people to become Christians believing the truth that Jesus Christ died for them and took their sins on Himself and arose the third day and is sitting by god, interceding for Christians when they sin. Our church is a loving church that wants to help others to a better understanding of Our Awesome God and His love, mercy and grace for all of mankind. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we love others while preaching and teaching from our Holy Bible about God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Our church has a Bible Study at 9:30 AM on Sunday and Worship Service at 10:30 AM and then at 6:00 PM there is another Bible Study concurrent with a program for children called AWANA which goes to 7:30 PM.
