"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."
(Mark 9:23 KJV)
Our God is Awesome but He will not always give you what you ask for because our lives here on earth are to learn to love God and to increase the "fruits of the Spirit" He has given us. This includes our faith in Him and as we go through life, He tests us, pushing us to a greater faith in Him.
Faith has many sides to it that can be developed individually or together. For instance, faith can increase your patience, your discipline or your courage by going through a time that you must be patient, discipline yourself while being faithful or maybe make a courageous stand that just depends on your faith in Our Awesome God to bring you through it.
Many of our Bible heroes are people who developed their faith, and their character in the process. These Bible heroes include such people as Abraham who waited for God to give him a promised son, Joseph who had to keep faith while surrounded by problems and nonbelievers, and David with his continual fight to solidify the kingdom of Israel to name just a few. These Bible heroes didn't just have their extreme faith develop over night. It developed over many years and with many experiences and tribulations. That can only make us realize that they were human, as we are and that they sinned and suffered with doubts and loss of faith in God.
Our Awesome God wants you to mature in "the fruits of the Spirit" as well as other characteristics as you get closer to heaven. Do you have faith enough to move a mountain? Few of us do but if you aren't becoming more mature then you need to ask Him why. Are you involved in ministry? If not, you should be, because even while your faith is helping you, it is also for you to use to benefit your church and help others to come to their own faith in Jesus Christ. So growing and maturing in faith requires you to use it for your Creator and Savior since it is a "fruit of the Spirit" (Galatians 5).
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study along with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. There is a spot for you to help. We love visitors!
