"O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph."
(Psalms 47:1 KJV)
"Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed."
(1 Samuel 2:3 KJV)
How do we praise Our Awesome God? The Lord mainly wants our heart right and our praise to be heard. He wants us to be joyful, thankful, appreciative and loving. Do you express this as you sing? Do you lift your hands and voice in awe to our God? Do you praise God with your mouth?
When the Bible tells us to “PRAISE” Our Awesome God, it’s calling us to give vent to our adoring heart. Worship can be silent, but praise never is. Whether the song is slow or fast, or even if it’s not a song at all but perhaps a shout or applause, it’s irrelevant, but we are called to verbalize the adoration of our hearts. We are to tell Him that we appreciate Him and love Him.
The Bible emphasizes "praise" almost as much as prayer and if you pray and praise God, and you mean it, you are pleasing the Lord. Your praise is important to Our Awesome God. It tells Him where your heart is. It tells Him that you love and appreciate Him and that you know you do. It tells Him that you are okay. He never sleeps and He is always there to help you.
Our whole life should be a praise to our God, all of our being is to "praise God" including the spirit, soul and body. Real worship begins in our spirit and our praising of Our Awesome God will cause us to spiritually come into His presence. Remember that worship can be silent but "praising" never is. Remember also, there is power when you pray and praise Him at the same time.
Our Awesome God has done so much for us, such as creating this whole universe and all that is in it, making everything work together to keep everything reproducing what is needed to live and giving us a Savior in Jesus Christ so we could go to the heaven He made. We can surely find plenty to praise Him for.
If you are a Christian who has strayed away from Our Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 10:30 AM for worship and for caring from our church of Christians. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We welcome all people and love them!
