"Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness."
(Psalms 150:1-2 KJV)
"And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten."
(2 Chronicles 20:22 KJV)
We are told to praise Our Awesome God. The above Scripture from the Book of Psalms 150:1-6 is magnificent in telling us to praise God in all things. Read the whole Psalm 150, not just what was put above. We like praise and so does God! Who deserves it more than our Creator God? Why should we praise Our Awesome God? Look deeper than just that God likes praise or even that He told us to praise Him. God's purpose for His commandments is always to help us grow and mature in our knowledge and wisdom. Though we could praise Him all day, here are a few reasons we should praise God: 1) Praise puts our focus on God, 2) Praise helps us realize our faith in God, 3) Praise increases our joy in the Lord, and 4) Praising God humbles us. When we finish praising Him, we can always think of a praise we forgot.
God is Awesome and has again given us His rules for a reason or a purpose. They aren't random thoughts; there is a purpose for them. Start praising God daily and watch yourself as you change and mature as a Christian. As you begin to understand all the things He has done for you, it makes you more humble and to realize how much He loves you (John 3:16) and how wonderful He is.
Read your Bible, pray and attend a Bible believing church that preaches that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose on the third day ascending into heaven to sit on the right hand of Our Awesome God. Start praising God so you can see and verbalize all that God does for you and others. It is guaranteed to make you humble and "joyful" that your God created you, loves and protects you. Praise Our Awesome God!
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study with AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
