"And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God;"
(Daniel 9:20 KJV)
Daniel of the "Lions Den" knew it was important to pray for his nation (Israel) all the time. Daniel needed Our Awesome God to help him and his people many times as he wended his way through the fragile politics of a foreign nation. When king Nebuchadnezzar became ill, Daniel was left to rule the Babylonian Empire with advisors. God knows that keeping a nation from straying and to keep doing things by God's commandments requires discernment and wisdom. Not that Babylon was acknowledging Our Awesome God as their God. But God will use a nation worshipping another god if He needs to to fulfill His purpose.
The important thing to know now is that God wants you to pray and ask for His help to put our nation on a path to following our great, wise God. He is interested in all things, especially, national politics. Ask Him for help! God is Awesome. Ask Him to give our politicians honesty, love of justice, wisdom and discernment, even if they are not Christian. Then pray to God to show them where and when to use each to make our nation strong. God can use each person to build a stronger nation and He will if we pray for Him to help them. But God wants you to ask Him!! Your prayers are needed all the time.
Our nations all need help from Our Awesome God to get the leaders to be the men and women that God made them to be and to be worshipping our God. He loves them and wants what is best for each person and nation. Pray to the LORD!
Prayers for people who are in positions of authority have high priority in the heart of Our Awesome God and should have a high priority for us. Good decisions help the advancement of God's Kingdom. We see this in Scripture, such as the one quoted above. You could even say that 1 Timothy 2:1-4 is a demand for us to pray. We cannot afford to leave prayers up to others.
Join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others and reminding ourselves about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour and there is more during the week. We love visitors!
