"If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me."
(Psalms 66:18-20 KJV)
Our Awesome God is infinite, complex, loving and righteous, but He will meet you where you are in your understanding of Him. He can be so simple that a child of 6 years can understand Him or He can be so complex that you soon realize you will never know everything about Him. Most of us can only begin our conversation with Him where our knowledge of Him has led us and that is where you should begin for He will be there too.
Like all your friends and loved ones, be they neighbors or relatives, in order to know them well we must talk to them (pray). Our Awesome God wants you to converse or talk with Him so that you slowly understand and love Him. So bring all of your preconceived ideas and start talking to Him. You will grow to love your time with Him!
"Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." (Psalms 5:1-3 KJV)
In this Scripture, King David is talking to Our Awesome God and asking Him to hear his prayers. So as you slowly feel your way into the conversation with God, be aware that, though He knows what you are thinking, He knows that you need to express it aloud.
Conversation with God will never be boring! Think of all He knows! Start where you are comfortable and advance at your pace to a deeper knowledge and understanding of this powerful, eternal and all knowing God. God Is Awesome. He knows everything and loves you beyond any love we know or really understand. You will grow to love the feeling of peace His talks give when you become earnestly involved in talking (praying) to Him. It's addicting! It gives you wisdom!
If you are hesitant to pray or to talk to Our Awesome God, our Wednesday night prayer meeting at 7:00 pm is a good place to learn or advance your understanding and confidence in praying. If you are a Christian who has strayed away from Our Awesome God or someone who has never been a Christian or a person who needs to help minister to others, join us at Living Word Baptist Church on Sunday at 10:30 AM for worship and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study and AWANA for children until 7:30 PM. We care as a church of Christians. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We welcome all people and love them!
