"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;"
(1 Timothy 2:1 KJV)
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."
(Mark 9:23 KJV)
When you talk about prayer, anything is possible that pleases Our Awesome God. But to pray for others, you need to believe in God and Jesus Christ. How can you pray to someone unless you believe they exist? The more faith and belief you have that He will take care of your request, the more likely He is to fill your request.
You are entering some of life's most exciting adventures -- the adventures of Prayer. What a wonderful privilege God has given to and asked of each Christian! He has asked us to talk to Him, to ask for what others need (James 5:15), and ask for what we want (James 4:2). We can pray to our Creator, our omnipotent Savior (without ceasing).
God works miracles in answer to the prayers of His people. Remember, Jesus didn't work many miracles in His own city because of their lack of faith in Him (Matthew 13:54-58). But He waits for you to ask because He wants your faith (belief) that your prayers will be answered. God wants your prayers all day as you work and play. He listens!! He answers! Author and Pastor John Bisagno states: "Answered prayer is not a miracle, it is a law." Think of answered prayer all the time! Let's do away with empty prayer but pray knowing God will do the right thing.
If our prayers are answered, four things have occurred: we have prayed in faith that it will happen, we have been very specific about what we want, we have repented of our sins and Our Awesome God has answered. The first three are "laws" that God has suggested are the basics that promote answered prayer. So we need to always live our three basics. Answered prayer is not abnormal (Acts 26:8), it is normal and should not be unusual. You have a loving Father just waiting for you to ask ... so He can answer!
Of all the commands and privileges given to believers, none is more vital than prayer. You will find that, when we go to the place of prayer, we move into a deep fellowship with the God of Creation. He has commanded us to "come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may find grace to help in time of need". (Hebrews 4:16). Let us go to the Throne of God and pray for others!
Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and how to teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour and there is more during the week. We love visitors!
