"Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
(John 14:10 KJV)
"Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."
(John 5:19 KJV)
Think a moment about our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Son of Our Awesome God. He is God incarnate, the perfect man and the absolute Creator God who also is the God-man adequately and continuously fulfilled every expectation of God for man. He is the constant delight and joy of the Father’s heart. He has always pleased the Father. Now, thinking of Him as all the above, ask yourself this question, "How much did He personally, as man, contribute to His mighty works, deeds, and ministry?" Christ Himself gave us the answer at the end of John 14:10, above. And how did that happen? Through His prayerful guidance from His Father, Our Awesome God! Jesus prayed in all that He thought, said and did. He knew what God wanted and He did it. But He always asked His Father if He got His orders right.
It seems that prayer for Jesus proceeded out of a basic attitude of deep dependence that resulted in the very intimate fellowship that He has with Our Awesome God the Father because, from the standpoint of His humanity, He was totally convinced He could do nothing of His own resources (only true while a man on earth). But we as humans need to have this same attitude of dependence on God and keep checking to see if we are doing it God's Way.
In the busy hustle and bustle of our lives, we need to step back and find a quiet spot that is private and secret, if possible, and pray. Our dependency on Our Awesome God and on Jesus is even greater than Jesus' while He was on earth. Because we abandon ourselves to sin every so often and Jesus never sinned. Pray any time and all the time. Prayer and the Bible are the two methods most often used by God to help man-kind today. Belong to or join a church that prays in worship services, in prayer meetings, in Bible Studies, when they eat and before business meetings. Take time to Pray and read your Bible!
Join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour. We a have a Prayer Meeting that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday along with Youth Chapel for teens. Learn with us how to do it God's Way with prayer.
