"Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said."
(1 Chronicles 17:23 KJV)
The above Scripture was prayed by David and was one of those encouraging times when he could say to God, "You promised." It is beautiful and inspiring when we can put our fingers on a promise that Our Awesome God has made concerning a prayer request we have made. Most times, we wonder what God really wants and is our prayer within His purpose or another way of saying it is, "Am I praying in the right way for this prayer to be blessed by God?"
There are few things that feel as good as putting your finger on a Scripture Verse and saying, "You promised, Father." And yet, we have to remember that the promise may have been made under different circumstances, often for a different reason and in a different time period. We need to be careful what we think Our Awesome God has promised to do and for whom. Check what you know about the promise and ask Him if it applies when you pray. He loves you, He'll listen to you. He always does and He knows your voice! And He answers all prayers.
Be sure our Father God knows how you feel about the prayer request. So if you feel as some do, that every promise of Scripture is a letter from God which we may plead before Him with this reasonable request: "Do as you promised, Lord," you can be sure Our Awesome God knows. I know that God will do the right thing though I may tell Him what I would like Him to do.
Our church has an Intercessory Prayer Team that is always in need of members. We would love to find new members to enlarge our Team. Come join us in our church as we become more active in changing lives and presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. We always need Christian teachers and new ideas in presenting Our Awesome God to others. We are a church that preaches and teaches that Jesus Christ died for you and took your sins upon Himself and arose the third day and is now sitting by God, interceding for you when you sin.
