"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
(John 3:17-18 KJV)
A definition of salvation is: being saved from the power of sin (What is sin? It is breaking God's Laws) and from going to a spiritual, or "second death" in hell which is the penalty of sinning. Through the death of Jesus Christ, who was perfect, Our Awesome God has allowed us to be freed from everything that would prevent us from going to heaven and eternally enjoying the presence of God.
In order to have salvation, there are two simple things that must happen. First, admit that you have sinned and repent. Sinning is when you break God's laws and refuse to acknowledge that Our Awesome God has ultimate authority over our lives (Romans 3:23 KJV). This sinning causes a spiritual death or separation from God (Romans 6:23). So after we admit we are sinners (Romans 3:10-18), we are to repent or be sorry we have sinned (Luke 5:32) and tell God we are sorry.
The second thing that must happen is to Believe upon Jesus Christ as Our Awesome God's only begotten Son and that He came to earth to take all our sins upon Himself and to save us from going to hell for eternity (John 3:18 KJV). This is all that is required to accept God’s free gift of eternal life. It helps to start obeying God's Laws for if you believe in Him and fully understand what He did out of love for you, you will love Him and want to do His Will.
Once we have been saved, God tells us to Confess to others that we believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son and our Savior (Romans 10:9-10). In confessing your belief and faith in Jesus Christ, you need to find a church that encourages and teaches you from God's Holy Bible and not one written or added to by man. Our Awesome God loves you and sent His Son for you to be able to spend eternity in heaven.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV). Join us this Sunday as we learn more about God is Awesome and how to teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets along with AWANA for children who go until 7:30 PM. There is more during the week. We love visitors!
