"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
(James 5:15-16 KJV)
"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
(Luke 11:13 KJV)
As Christians, we need to realize the awesome power of prayer and how it helps us to mature. We should know that prayer is a mighty link with our heavenly Father and an incredible privilege and responsibility that He has given us. God is Awesome and has given us the power through prayer to influence the hand of God "when we abide in Him and He abides in us" (John 15:7).
The source of your awesome prayer power is the Holy Spirit and the instrument of prayer power is you. It is you when you are filled with the Holy Spirit and pray in Jesus name. In fact, it was by your prayer in Jesus name that the Holy Spirit was given to you, and by your prayer in His name the Holy Spirit filled you and empowered you to tell others about Jesus Christ (Luke 11:13).
Our Awesome God has let us be the instrument of power but the power comes through our prayers only when we depend on the Holy Spirit and pray through Jesus Christ to God, the Father. Accordingly, when we pray in the Holy Spirit we are saying to God, “I can do nothing without you, Lord. You are my strength. I wait on You for power to do whatever it is You want me to do.” And then, out of our weakness, He gives us the omnipotent power of Christ (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Jesus said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." (John 15:7 KJV) What power! We are able to receive whatever we wish that God can use for His purpose! It comes to us when we give ourselves totally to Him as His instrument of righteousness.
Come join us as we work in Our Awesome God's vineyard, telling others about His story, Jesus Christ's Salvation, and our eternal home with Him, trying to help them to understand Our Creator better. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and a Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study meets for an hour and there is a program for children called AWANA that meets until 7:30 PM. We have a Prayer Meeting and Bible Study that meets at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Learn with us how to use and invest your time with wisdom for Our Awesome God!
