"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
(Philippians 4:6 KJV)
Why pray, when we don't really believe in Our Awesome God or that He will answer such a sinful person as ourselves? But we need help now and He answered our friend. It won't hurt to try Him.
God wants us to pray! And here are some reasons why; 1) God has asked us to pray! He wants us to pray to Him in detail and for the most trivial decisions in our lives. These small decisions we make are often followed by large changes in our lives ... and terrible or wonderful consequences. 2) God wants us to pray to Him for what we want so we will understand our request better and see the possible consequences as He sees them. Our world here on earth thinks we get things we want only by working, planning, fighting, taking it by force, and/or scheming. Christians have a better and more productive way of getting what they want and which keeps them in better health. We ask God for it! 3). Prayer is the secret of constant peace and fullness of joy. Praying does something for you personally. It gives you the chance to pour your heart out to God and free your mind of the burdens we often hang onto. 4) God's answer to prayers are definite proof that God exists and cares for us. Answered prayer means He is alive, He listens, He cares for us. God answering your prayer strengthens your faith and decreases your doubt. 5) You really do need God's Will and the Holy Spirit in your life. We need to know and should be willing to surrender to God's Will at all times for He knows best, especially when we pray. To really be successful when we pray, we need to be willing to follow God's Will and to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is important for you to pray since it is what is needed to be saved after you have "seen" your sins as Our Awesome God sees them and you have repented. Praying is very important in the life of a Christian. The way for a Christian to have power is to pray with the Holy Spirit in the Will of God. The blessings of God are waiting to be activated when we pray. When we pray to God, God can and will release the showers of blessings He has waiting for us. We have to wait sometimes for the best time to do something, so Pray. Are you ready?
We (as a church) want all people in church, worshipping Our Awesome God with faith and obedience every Sunday. If you are not yet a Christian, it is time that you should know and love Our Awesome God as your Creator and Savior. Join us at Living Word Baptist Church as we pray and worship Him this Sunday at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM for Bible Study. On Wednesdays, we meet at 7:00 PM for Prayer Requests, and a Bible Study follows until 8:00 PM. We love visitors!
