"And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword… And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah–nissi:"
(Exodus 17:13, 15 KJV)
Yahweh-Nissi, means, "The Lord is my Banner or Refugee." This wording mentions Our Awesome God as our important rallying point for victory because God will fight for us. The above verse is from a battle that was fought by Moses and Joshua against a strong people descended from Amalek, a grandson of Esau, as Moses took the people to Canaan with God's help. In this fight, they prevailed because God helped them and because God wanted them to see that leaning on Him was important to all.
We should gather under Our Awesome God's banner and protection but it includes submitting to God's will, working together with God's people, and leaning on God's protection. God is for us but we need to do things God's way, in God's time, and work together to accomplish His purpose. This is what God is to us: a banner of encouragement to give us hope and a focal point that has the same purpose to spread Our Awesome God's salvation to all the world. So we need to know Him by reading His Holy Bible and praying to Him in order to be ready for action at the right time.
If we truly put our trust in Our Awesome God and His Word we could change this world. God's Holy Word tells us what we are to do to be His child and live with Him forever. So if we believe, to do what He asks we need to band together and help one another as we tell the outside world about our precious loving God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Rally at a God fearing church that believes in the Holy Bible, teaches the Holy Bible, and that teaches Jesus Christ is Our Awesome God's only Son. Join with that church, read that Bible, and obey God's commands as you rally under God's Banner until your orders come from God Himself. Yahweh-Nissi, is our Banner and refuge that means protection from those who don't believe Him and a home in heaven with God.
LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV). Join us this Sunday as we learn more about Our Awesome God and how to teach others from His Holy Bible. Our church starts with small groups on Sunday at 9:30 AM and Worship Service at 10:30 AM. On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a Bible Study and AWANA for children meets for an hour and a half and there is more during the week. We love visitors!
