"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts." (Jeremiah 15:16 KJV)
When reading in the Holy Bible, it is easy to hurry over the verses of Scripture without really thinking of the importance of the passage. This wasn't true for the prophet Jeremiah, who wrote the Scripture above and made it an issue to study what Our Wonderful God meant. We should read slowly and take time to digest the words as we read. As we are "eating" the verse, we need to really taste the flavors and texture of the passage that we are reading. Apparently, Jeremiah experienced a rush of "joy and rejoicing" as he was "eating" God's Word. We need to know that Our Amazing Creator intends the word, "heart," as used by Jeremiah, to mean the inner man, thinking and reflecting on, in this case, his appetites. It seems that the Holy Bible helps nourish the thoughts and emotions we have, bringing us joy. But, in order to find that joy, we must experience the knowledge of Scripture to a greater depth than just "skimming" over God's Word. We need to check to see what the translated words meant in Jeremiah's time and what we think they mean now. Are the meanings the same? Do we know what Our Wonderful God really meant? We need to know God's words and their meaning. Commentaries can help but it is the job of the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. (John 16:13) God's Word deserves an in depth look at His meaning. So spend some time reading and studying the Holy Bible, praying and attending Church this year. Find a Church that praises Our Wonderful God, reads out of a Bible translated from multiple earliest Scripture copies, practices what it preaches, and prays. It is also a plus if the congregation hears what the Holy Bible says, not just social "chit-chat," from the pulpit. We want you, as a true Christian and believer in Jesus Christ, to understand Our Wonderful God. LWBC is a Bible believing church that tries to live Jesus Christ's commandment to "love one another as I have loved you."
